Boot camp is always a good for every new cod. With new movement tech/aim assist options in almost every new call of duty release it’s always good to get that little bit of time to adjust to how the new game plays without absolutely getting fucking dunked on in your first 3 matches.

The WAW campaign had some of the most iconic moments in all of COD. Watching your buddy get his throat slit in the opening scene, laying amongst the dead bodies as the Germans finish some of them off, the tank mission, the plane mission, the Ray Gun Easter egg, planting the Soviet flag on the Reichstag… that was THE peak COD experience.

I agree with your number 4 point. I’m someone who still plays the classic COD games on my 360. Putting lots of time into these games again really made me realize how simple sniping was most of the time. MW2, MW3 and especially BO2 are incredibly easy to snipe in. COD4 and WaW actually took a bit because of juggernaut and like you mentioned, BO purposely made sniping worse.

Infinite warfare had the best zombies, not only did it have a lot of really good maps, it had fun weapons, good perk system, a super easter egg that is actually worth getting,a super easter egg bossfight which requires you to beat all the previous maps in directors cut which makes you play everymap again to conclude your thoughts about said map, and a brilliant/playable antagonist who sadly past away a couple of days ago. Rest in Peace Paul, the one and only willard wyler. And a very fun and cool director: Lee ross. I could go on and on about tjings i loved about the zombies mode but bo3 beats ONLY because it has custom zombies and thats the only reason.

Completely agree with takes 10, 6, 3 and 2 Some thoughts on the rest: IW Zombies: Definitely good in its core and directors cut was great. I wouldn't call it a non treyarch zombie mode since treyarch did a lot of work in this SBMM: Disagree. We should definitely get a beginner playlist for new players (maybe only available till rank 30 or something) but nothing else. Teambalancing based on previous match performances is completely fine. World at War Story: Russian Part was amazing, american part was mid/good Pick 10: Definitely better than gunsmith but i prefer create a class like cod4-mw3 + ww2 Sniping takes no skill: Kinda agree, but since these are the slowest firing weapons it's more critical if you miss shots. Also sniping is "cool" because it's very enjoyable to watch (not necessarily to play). Especially in montages Aether: Agree in WAW and bo1. Story there was completely made up by the community imo. Bo2-Bo4 was definitely a good story. I don't mind it being twisted.

My hot take is that BO3 is a one of if not the best CoD game of all time. It has the best zombies, one of the funnest multiplayers in all of CoD, a ridiculous amount of side content Nightmare mode, Free Run, Dead Ops Arcade 2, Mod support, Zombies Chronicles, and has what is in my opinion the most underrated campaign in the series, with a super deep intricate story that’s fun to unravel, 4 player co op, etc. most people just didn’t like the campaign because they never picked up on the twist and they were annoyed that it wasn’t more closely connected to BO2.

Big agree about snipers not taking any skill. It's a joke that people think they do, and even that people think they are fair. Snipers are unfair weapons that break the combat system. Snipers. They are just as simple to use as any other weapon, especially since you can remove the high mag optics, and their long ADS time is easily offset by their ability to 1 shot anywhere on the map for like 50% of the body. It's insane and I hate it.

I think Aether was a decent enough story. Bo4 could of ended it properly if they didn’t tried to create the Chaos storyline which made the ending of Aether just rushed and a slog to go through. For sure it was confusing but having that sense of mystery since waw to bo2 was simply incredibly perfect. The only issue I have is more so the gameplay with the most random type easter egg steps that exist in later cod zombies, those were annoying.

My hot takes are 1) the only reason why Infinite Warfare Zombies isnt the best zombies game, is because of BO 3 chronicles. 2) Infinite Warfare has the best campaign, best multiplayer and a really great zombies mode making it the best call of duty game of all time.

🔥🔥🔥🔥HOT TAKE: Vanguard zombies is overhated, not underrayed but overhated. Treyarch had clearly not enough manpower nor time. Right now its a decent zombies game. And the archon has one of the best boss fights in cod history. It look amazing, good environment, uses cool mechanics and is super fun.

Hot take but bo4 is massively overhated. It’s deeply flawed don’t get me wrong but I have such a fun time playing it as much as the older cod games. It was wasted potential that Covid happened and treyarch got rushed to making bo4 what it was. Gameplay wise I find really nicely fast paste without it feeling like I’m having to go all try hard just to get kills. The weapons were mostly balanced and still had unique traits to them and zombies is overlooked and I think had zombies been closer to what bo3 was it would’ve been much more positively received. Idk I just feel like after bo4 they prioritized graphics and a couple cool gimmicks over gameplay and the feel it.

I disagree with the IW zombies take. I would say it’s better than WW2, and vanguard was offensive to the zombies community so it’s irrelevant but Everyone who agrees that IW zombies was good must be forgetting how horrendous shaolin shuffle and beast from beyond were. Radioactive thing was mid with a bad EE. Space land and rave were good along with directors cut but that leaves the zombies experience in IW with 1 really good map and a pretty ok map with rave. As for the aether storyline I think it kept getting stretched out after rev and was just downhill from there.

I would agree with your take on Aether, as it is very confusing. But at the same time, Homestuck exists and has had a longer amount of time to be an arguably even more confusing webcomic. But I'm still glad we had the Aether slate wiped clean because it would've gotten messier than it already was, and I'm not sure people would be on board if the voice actors just all dipped suddenly before it ended

It’s good for keeping maps and dlc weapons in the loop since more people can access them, but since it’s free, it’s allowed these seasons to become really lacking in content. Plus I’m just tired of seeing the battle pass in every game. They all have this paid tier and free tier system that I’m just getting fatigued by. I thought loot boxes were ok as long as they weren’t heavily manipulated into making you buy them

Sniping is just more risky to use than other classes bc if you miss a bullet you're dead.. Sniping isn't supposed to be like super hard to get singular kills with... it's cod... the easiest shooter in the world. It is clips that take skill to hit, which is why most snipers snipe, since snipers are like the only class that you can hit crazy and interesting clips with on CoD. How many noobs can pick up a sniper and hit quad heads and five ons? How many sweats can even do that? Not many. Hitting clips is like... the only thing that is really impressive in cod, at least to us snipers. If I didn't snipe and make videos from sniping, I would have quit cod 10 years ago. Sweating with no real goal apart from the repetitive camping for a nuke is only fun for only so long. Nothing gives me a dopamine rush like hitting some unexpected banger from sniping. Snipers are the only weapon you can hit something insanely lucky with and thats what makes it so fun. It's like gambling. You never know what you're gonna hit.

Good hot takes I agree with almost all of them and one major hot take I have which I didn’t know was till recently is raids in MW2 are great they are honestly fun,unique and offer a nice challenge and plus it’s the closest thing to a co-op campaign In recent years plus I think we can all agree more story is so good I honestly don’t get why their hated I think it’s purely down to the 3 player thing but unfortunately they wouldn’t work without the 3 player team so it just seems like people hate on it due to not being able to play it plus it’s nice to earn some free operators normally after launch there are no free ops and the fact we got 4 free operators which aren’t just random people either it’s like Gaz,Alex, Farah and price actually very well known characters what people will actually use but unfortunately due to the hate we will probably never see them again which is honestly is sad as I think they were such a solid addition and added a reason to play spec ops

1. Loved the first clip, absolutely LOVE your first take. 2. I also agree sniping takes very little skill to be good at. A skilled sniper in the lobby is nearly unbeatable. 3. Yes, shipment is DOGSHIT 4. Battlepasses are far far far superior to loot boxes. I quit BO3 (a godly game) because I could not get the Famas, spent $200 and still didn't get it. Haven't touched it since.

My hot take is the aether story got really bad in bo3. While the maps were good, Blundel’s direction with the apothicans and that god awful Doctor monty character made the story less engaging or interesting. Zilenski’s story is just way more mysterious and interesting

10. I don’t disagree with, I feel like Warzone 2 started strong but after like 2-3 weeks it just turned into a worst WZ1 9. YESS. IWZ is my fav zombies, Dcut, challenges, and keys being earned for MP and zombies was amazing. 8. No opinion 7. Agree. Not my fav, but still pretty damn good. 6. Eh I dislike AW and BO3, but not for the exo movement, and IW I loved alot so I am fine with Exo 5. Nah Ghosts>all the rest 4. YESSSSSS. FUCK SNIPERS. They have ruined every game since WW2, especially BOCW where even after the flinch needs they are still powerful. I still can’t believe “””hardscoping””” is frowned upon more than quickscoping, even though one is the intended use of snipers and the other makes snipers better than most. Weapons at their ideal range(if I am using a SMG as a SMG, why I am I losing to the sniper 9 times out of ten. My loathing for this attitude and quicksopers in general cannot be understated. 3. Yea, especially with 24/7 playlists. Would maybe be more manageable without them, but I still do prefer shipment to nuketown, both overall mid. 2. Yes and no. Free content without gambling and split playerbase is a W, but the fact it is all time based with zero way to speed up or slow down the rate ruins it. Like I think fortnite has like missions or shit for you do to complete battle pass tiers, but no matter how much you play everyone progress through the BP at the same rate. 1. Yep, Aether kinda fucking sucks, and I am glad it ended. Bonus round! MWR > COD4, MWR is my favorite game, the supply drops actually enhance the game and don’t ruin it, and things like weapon kits and event camos as well as event maps staying in the game instead of being gutted like future cods, MWR is my fav. IW is my second fav, what can I say. I just love everything there was to grind for. Ghosts as a whole can catch some W’s. The base maps were good and kinda overhated(ESPECIALLY Stonehaven), Extinction was banger, and the dlc system is far more fairly monetized than newer games. WAW is carried by maps as weapon balancing, perk balancing and hit detection suck. VG wasn’t THAT bad, like the maps, operator levels, and combat pacing were neat. Speed round: Rust isn’t top 5 from MW2 BO1 had the best style of 3 lane maps by far Spec ops in MW3 was damn good Stand-off was only good in BO2, and slums was never good. BO1 Moon was kinda whatever. Fog is tied for best cod map ever alongside Overgrown. BO3 is kinda overrated in terms of Mp IW Terminal is best Terminal WW2 HQ should have come back WW2’s daily orders/contracts should have come back WW2’s 1v1 pit should have come back(noticing a trend). MW’s best mode was Headquarters, not SnD BOCW would have benefitted from more BO1 remakes over BO2 remakes(or ya know original maps) MWII maps on paper are better than MW, but the fucked spawn Logic carried from MW makes these maps play worst than MW. Nuketown peaked in BO1 before becoming one of the worst maps in cod.

One game cannot rank with an entire company's history of amazing maps. Have they made bad ones? Idrc, never played it. 6. The entirety of EXO? No. The zombies? Sure. 5. That's kinda you looking at it with rose tinted glasses, but it was more simple and fit those games better, so whatever. 4. Wrong. Just simply, you are wrong. They've nerfed sniping so much since the old days. Also it's funny that you say someone who uses a sniper would dominate more on an AR, because that directly counters this take. If the snipers are harder to use, then they take more inherent skill than an AR or an SMG. 3. Shipment is the best small map. It's big enough that you don't always die the Second you spawn in, but it's small enough that you can get a lot of kills easy. People like the map for the fact that you get camos and challenges done easily. That is the only reason people like the map. Nobody says it's good for anything else. 2. "Battlepasses are healthy" no. "Battlepasses might be better than what we've had before" sure. Please, don't get those two things confused. 1. You don't need to watch a six-hour video covering the whole thing. You can watch shorter videos that cover the actually important parts. About the story being bad, this happens whenever a deep plan isn't in place. It's a byproduct of exactly what you said, a back-and-forth between the story writer and the listener. I would take a confusing story that the listener helped create over a truly bad story that the listener had no control in.

I agree with a lot of these points, especially the Warzone one. I'll share some of my spicy hot COD takes 1. WWII has the second best campaign in the franchise 2. Infinite Warfare's campaign is an absolute disaster and is the worst COD campaign BY FAR 3. There are a lot of COD players who constantly double team and can't kill by themselves 4. Menendez should've been a Modern Warfare villain, not a Black Ops villain 5. Zombies isn't a good game mode on its own but is more of a dick around and have fun game mode

Sniping does take skill tho because if you miss your shots especially close range you’re instantly dead and with juggernaut in world at war and cod four it was a pain in the ass to deal with.let alone in the futuristic games everyone jumping on walls and flying in the air with no aim assist didn’t help.there’s been a lot of reg guns throughout cod history that will kill you before you could even zoom in.Everything else on the list I can agree with though

warzone is the only reason cod is still alive. 3 out of the past 4 years the multiplayer is the worst the series have ever seen. I would also disagree with your premise about warzone being more fair. Battle royales by nature are not fair or competitive. There is too much randomness and rng involved. Multiplayer will always have the edge there.

It feels off for sure. First, the aim assist is actually insane. It's super easy to over-correct if you're used to other CODs. And the timing is all over the place thank to the attachment system. And lag comp is wild too. I tend to ghost a bit and aim slightly off in he direction they're heading. But, yeah, it doesn't feel great in this game
