States are states. But in Finland there many many "counties" where the population has been halved in 40 years. Young people move to towns or cities, big or small.

I don’t know about the rest of Ohio but the southwest part of the state is seeing a population increase. There are new housing developments going up all over the area and they are selling, even with the increased inflation and interest rates.

I left IL in 2018. High taxes, crime and lousy schools (Round Lake Beach, IL) were among my biggest issues. Illegals were everywhere and overflow from the ghettos in Chicago had been funneled there. Autozone on Saturday afternoon was full of sombreros with lines 10 deep. I'm so glad I left.

There's no such thing as a "decline in manufacturing". The jobs were outsourced. Obama said :..those jobs aren't coming back, Folks". You voted for it. You went to work for your corporate overlord and tolerated this.

You'd probably be more shocked to learn, you've been lied to. Red state controlled cities are way out in front for violent crime but you never checked, you just believed what they told you. The lie is, they only count cities that have millions of people. Check out the crime stats for Memphis or Little Rock. In fact Texas has 10 cities that are ahead of NYC, Chicago, and all of the other blue cites you think are bad. Do your own research, chump.
