iPhone has a great feature to remove backgrounds. Hold your finger on the object of the photo. You’ll see a light simmer around the object and a query appears - copy/share (updated OS version has more options). Choose Share, choose Email. It opens your email. In the text box, press with your finger and Paste appears. It pastes in the object sans background.

This was helpful. I did not know you could change the brightness on your phone when you take your photo. Mind blown. I just fix it in List Perfectly. I found the background remover on eBay to be far inferior to the one on List Perfectly.

If it's an additional picture where you have to hold the item, you can crop the hand out. Especially if you're using macro mode where you can see fingernails. Try using something else to hold the item if possible. Department store pics are good examples of the kinds of pictures you want to post

Hi Margaret, pricing is my issue. The news keeps mentioning a possible recession, so hitting the top sold comps may not be realistic. Should I try for it anyway, lower the price for a quicker sale (buy it now) or run it as an auction and let buyers decide what my item is worth? Thank you - Dave

I tried auctions recently and it didn't go well

Unless you have a unique item, auctions won't sell for as much as buy now. Recent comps are pretty accurate just make sure you have good, clear pictures. People are buying, but there are more platforms and a lot more competition. Sellers have to find ways to stand out. Cross posting on multiple platforms helps. Now that ebay charges promotion fees, sellers have to find ways to also promote their business. Most social media accounts are free and you can just repost the same item pictures. This is the slowest time of the year but just keep listing. Good luck!

Try the app called photo room. Its the one I use and it does a great job removing the background. The basic app is free or there's an upgrade which is a monthly fee but you can do alot more. I'm still using the free one but I'm planning on getting the upgrade as my sales pick up.

My problem area would be if I'm taking a picture of something long and skinny like adult overalls, ski bibs, an ankle length dress, Etc. If I want to highlight the item then I crop it down but then I end up with a long and skinny picture which is the best I can do if I don't want a bunch of background space or background clutter which is sometimes an issue. I'm in such a small space I don't have a large area to take pictures in so I often have to crop out background items.

Since you don't have much space, I wanted to suggest getting an over the door hanger that you can place your long skinny item on. If the door is dark or ugly, you could throw a plain sheet or tablecloth for a long table over the top of the door, and then put the over the door hanger.

I have used the over-the-door idea but unfortunately the space where the door is doesn't have enough room for me to back up all the way for a long skinny item although I can do that for a blouse or skirt. In good weather I can go outside and hang the item on a staircase but the problem I was describing is that when I crop it down it makes such a long skinny picture I feel like it's not real attractive plus there's no way to make it into a square without there being excessive background that I feel would detract from the item I'm trying to highlight.

@@maryarwood8942 you're probably asking the question of the original creator of this KZbin. But in case you are asking me since it's under my comment, whether I do vertical or horizontal depends on the size of the item. A sweater with the sleeves stuck out would probably be horizontal. Adults overall would probably be vertical. I go by the shape of the item I'm photographing.
