Bare bones the punisher is a highly skilled soldier who has gone rogue so minimum basic combat training is logically required.

Punisher is a good character in Marvel Comics,but when it comes to put him along side other guys like the Avengers,is just pretty weird. Some of them are good but most of them are just plain weird. Him being Frankenstein’s monster is a good example of weirdness and don’t get me started of him turning black.
