Got home to a room full of random stuff.Threw out 2-5 bags of clothes, trash and random stuff the day I got home. Wanted to go back by the end of the second day. Realized everything was the same by the end of the first. Wanted to talk about my trip so bad but everyone was over hearing about it within a few days. When I finally did get asked I no longer felt like talking about it. Compare everything, especially food. Started planning dates for future trips that may or may not happen. Always constantly reminded of why I left in the first place. X) It's hard and sometimes very depressing but you do have to try and move on. It slowly becomes easier.

This really hit me hard, especially that last one. Just got back from an amazing 5 month journey that ended sooner than what I would have liked. All I can think about is "I need to go out again! I can sign pretty much everything you said there. It's really awkward when you ask a friend what has happened in their life after half a year or a year of travelling and they answer with: "Oh, not much..." or even "Oh, nothing..." The first times it happened, I was just standing there, staring at them, trying to sort y thoughts of WFT??? SIX MONTHS HAVE PASSED AND NOTHING HAPPENED??? Always makes me realise, that I'm on the right track of actually using my life wisely... On the contrary, I keep getting the question: "So, you were on this trip! What happened?" (big, shiny eyes) And I just stand there, thinking... Do you want the short version, or do you really have the next 24h? Oh well. We'll have to live with it, I guess ;)

Thank you for this video. It must have been amazing to live in Australia and travel around over 2 years. However, something you said really resonated with me. And that was how, if you can only travel for 1 month a year, don't waste the other 11 by dreaming about it. I am a teacher so I try to get away as much as possible and the 6 weeks holidays are my haven. This year I'm off to Iceland and Amsterdam and next year: Australia! But that comment really spoke to me because it's so true. I have a lovely life at home and I need to appreciate it and not waste the time here dreaming of my 6 weeks off. So thank you. Your videos are super informative!

All it took for me for wanting to go back to England is landing in Orlando where my first layover is, going up to the passport control desk, hearing an American accent and saw all of the signs are different, and that's when I immediately thought to myself "Alright I'm here. Can I go back now?" I was going to go back to England in 10 days, but during that time, yeah everything you have said was pretty accurate. And it did hit me in the face pretty hard knowing I had just came back home even for that short amount of time.

I went on a 13-day long vacation to Canada and it was AMAZING we landed in Toronto and went straight to Niagara and back to Toronto and then Ottawa then Montreal and finally Quebec. But sadly it had to come to an end. No more wake up shower eat and explore, no more 7 person family (my grandparents went but they went back home after the trip) no more exploring. no more "I WANT TO CARD TO THE HOTEL ROOM". heh, fun times. this is the first day back from the trip and in 1 week I'm starting middle school. :(. guys go spend time outside with your family and whenever they ask you to go outside with them do it! it's always fun in the end. I am currently experiencing post travel depression and it is almost paralyzing. What is difficult it that when one has been traveling for a long time their lives at home has been put on a full stop. Once you return, suddenly you don't have to begin putting your life back together again. You think what parts would I prefer to ignore and what new would I like to add to my life. Meanwhile, all the people in your life went on with their lives as normal and they are not stopping for you to get you back on board.

Yes! You return and there´s people you don´t see regularly, they are all the same, haven´t noticed you´d gone and don´t know any of the changes in your life. I was in the supermarket exclaiming ´wow look at these peppers, so cheap´. But obviously no-one cares, because you´re being really boring! Maybe I have crappy friends and family, but no-one asked me about my travelling at all! It was probably worse because they treated me as if I was like I was before, when so much had changed. Also I must have disposed of 70% of what I own since I last travelled. I can´t wait to start travelling again! I agree with you about appreciating life, but sometimes there is nothing left where you are, so there´s nothing to cling onto.

I agree with everything especially #1. Just got back to the USA after 3 weeks traveling in India. Travel blues is hitting me hard right now. But going back to work in 3 hours, so hopefully it will ease me off the blues. But now I I just bought a home and I need to decorate and furnish it, so that will keep me busy and I can’t wait to post my India travel pics on Instagram and make videos to upload to KZbin. I don’t talk about travels a lot, I use social platforms like IG, KZbin, Facebook pages to share it. Btw, I like how simple and clean your room is. I love living off a backpack

I don't know, there's almost a superiority complex about a lot of the stuff you just said (not what you said but how you said it), you'll notice that people who don't get to travel due to what ever reason will resent that sort of snob attitude of yours when you come back. Just remember, travelling is a huge privilege for a select few lucky people, even for the western world! You should also keep in mind that the places you visit, with particular emphasis on developing countries, are filled with people whom you will encounter that will NEVER get the option of travelling for recreation. MAYBE for survival or better opportunities but not for recreation/ learning/ soul searching/ culture shocking, whatever. Be grateful of the opportunity and keep moving forward but stay humble and don't use travel as a means of one-upping your peers....

Where did you end up? I live in uk for 5 years but absolutely miss my own country. i always feel like something is missing. However I would miss uk if I would move. Dilemma for year already
@Norixciii8 жыл бұрын
I'm a citizen of two countries, and I have family in both countries. While I still live in France (not where I was born/had my childhood though), where my parents live, I really don't want to stay here for long-term. So I don't know where I'll end up yet, but going back and forth between countries it's very interesting because I definitely feel like a foreigner, at the same time I feel like sort of just another citizen of the same country. When you move a lot, you retain a part of you from each area you're from whether you like it or not. But I think it's best to go where you feel most comfortable, in general it's where the people who are closest to you live, or where people are just really nice.
@sintijarevina8 жыл бұрын
Midnight Snacks yeah I wish to go back from one side. I mean it's nice and all but it's super boring there. No nice places to visit. My country is very tiny and has around 2 million people living there. Also economics suck. I get in uk where I live now. 4x bigger salary. Can travel where I want to. The only thing stopping me is work. I have limited days I can take of.
@Norixciii8 жыл бұрын
In that case I think it's better to stay in the UK. Lots more opportunity and you can always visit home. Honestly though if you really do feel like life is perfect back home.. maybe that's where you should go. Being happy is better than having more money. Depends what you're looking for, what you really want, where you see yourself living, where your friends and family are. Or maybe you can wait and move back later in life, when you settle down. It depends on a lot of things.
@sintijarevina8 жыл бұрын
Midnight Snacks I've created pretty cool life here . So its pretty much 50/50 now . Back home is family,proper home , my own language and seaside is 5 min from home. UK is very good salary, traveling , good parties , breathtaking places to visit and things like that. I think I'm gonna end up having 2 nationalities and 2 homes.
