So I own a 1 year old chihuahua. When she was tinier, she used to be able to make her way under the doors!

I fostered a Chihuahua Cedric and he dramatically helped my PTSD. He was so gentle and sweet. Broke my heart when he was rehomed.
@petsmotherland Жыл бұрын
It's amazing to hear how much Cedric's a positive impact on your life and mental health. It's not uncommon for pets to provide comfort and emotional support, especially for those struggling with PTSD. We can only imagine how difficult it must have been to say goodbye to Cedric when he was rehomed, but the love and care you provided him during his time with you undoubtedly impacted his life. Thank you for sharing your story and efforts as a foster parent.

Chihuahuas are great and it all depends on how you raised them they are not yappy dogs only if you don't train them they are and every Chihuahua is different so people who say they don't like Chihuahuas or crazy and they say that's all they do is bark they don't all bark a dog should bark to warn you when someone comes to the door that is what dogs are for but to keep on barking is not good and Chihuahuas don't do that if you train them right as puppies I love chihuahuas

My Chihuahua is 13 years I got her when she was 8 weeks old she is barely 5 lb she was easy to train she knows how to heal stay sit up and stay is the most important thing I don't even need to walk her on a leash anymore she will not run away she always obeys people worried when I have her off the leash that she's going to run I say no I trained her when she was young she is very obedient yay for chihuahuas
@juliebaker8001 Жыл бұрын
But I still walk her on a you have to train your dogs I have never yelled at my chihuahua or even spanked her you cannot hit these dogs you might break something love my chihuahuas and you're right you cannot yell at these little dogs

Hi Julie, it's great to hear that you've had such a positive experience with your Chihuahua and have trained her well. We completely agree that a dog's behavior is largely determined by how they're raised and trained, and it's unfair to stereotype any breed as "yappy" or any other negative characteristic. It's wonderful to hear that your Chihuahua is so well-behaved and obedient, and we're sure your training efforts have played a big role in that. It's also great that you've emphasized the importance of positive reinforcement and not using physical punishment with these small dogs. Thanks for sharing your experience and love for Chihuahuas!

I have know Chihuahuas to be really friendly and sappy sweet or , not give a hoot who you are if you aren’t part of their “ pack “ . I once saw one that was so big that I thought that it was an American Eskimo mix and it wasn’t , it weighed 15# . Some coworkers from Oaxaca told me that Mexicans in Mexico call them Chihuajueños ( not positive on the spelling of that ) .

#4 I have a chihuahua XL. He weighs 6 kg. Nobody wanted him because he was considered too big.
@petsmotherland Жыл бұрын
It's great to hear you have a Chihuahua XL you love and care for. Unfortunately, some people may overlook larger Chihuahuas because they don't fit the stereotypical image of the breed, but ultimately what matters most is the love and companionship that a pet can provide. Every dog, regardless of size or breed, has a unique personality and qualities that make them special. We're so glad to hear that you could give your Chihuahua XL a loving home and that you appreciate him for who he is. Thank you for sharing your story!

@juliebaker8001 Жыл бұрын
Yeah my problem to my little Chihuahua is short hair and she sheds like crazy to I thought they weren't supposed to shed so much
@petsmotherland Жыл бұрын
Chihuahuas, like all dogs, shed as part of their natural hair growth cycle. Shedding is the process of the old or damaged hair falling out to make way for new growth. However, some Chihuahuas may shed more than others, which can be influenced by their age, diet, overall health, and the climate or season. Additionally, some Chihuahuas may have longer or thicker coats, which can result in more shedding. It's important to regularly groom your Chihuahua to help manage their shedding and keep their coat healthy. This can include brushing their coat frequently, providing a healthy and balanced diet, and ensuring they receive regular veterinary care. If you're concerned about the amount of shedding your Chihuahua is experiencing, it's always a good idea to consult your veterinarian to rule out any underlying health issues.

@Pets Motherland very true ! My little guys father is a long haired and the mother has a thick but short coat . Tater tot came out short/thick hair with longer patches on his chest and rear ... he sheds like crazy right now but it's turning spring . I was also bathing him too much (once every 2 weeks) and I did not realize it should be done every couple of months unless he gets dirty . Great video by the way

They also can shiver, but they're not cold. They're not the smallest breed either. They're teacup breeds that I believe shouldn't exist because they can have many health issues in being so tiny. I worked at an animal shelter that took in a lot of them. They can also be nasty little dogs. All depends on how they're raised. Most were so sweet!
