The best collection of good survival and camping tips I have seen. Clear, quick, and easily understood. I had seen several of these techniques explained in videos that took 10 times longer to explain each one, and because of that they were harder to remember. This is a Master class.

The Community tab is so underrated. Would love to see a list of your gear or favourite gear(along with any discount codes). We've always been outdoors enthusiasts but recently have been gathering supplies. Knife here, machete there, etc... Our daughter took the axe and machete to work yesterday to have sharpened. We dont have a tent though. Nor do we have sleeping bags or foam pads, cooking pots, etc... Would rather not buy new so its taking time to get everything together. Once again...great channel!

How to know if this sharpener made of magnesium or not

Try to scrape it with a knife, magnesium is a soft metal. If it's aluminum it won't scrape off so easily I think

@@ChristIsKing12 Good :) Good :) Be careful about one thing tho. All three (Husqvarna, Hulatfors and Gransfors Bruk are very good axes. And I've seen the Husqvarna at a lower price many times. But I've also see them pricier. Watch out where you buy. Also, there are many other good brands on the market and I have one that belonged to the grand father of a friend and it's still good and with the original handle. I have another one, a no name, with an hickory handle and paid about $15 for and it never failed me. So you don't always have to pay a fortune. The most important is to always keep it sharp. For this you need a file and a "puck". The puck is a round sharpening stone that looks like a ....puck. Good brands: Husqvarna, Hulatfors, Gransfors Bruk, Council Tools, grant, STHIL, etc.. You can also buy from a store selling to arborists, they usualy carry good stuff.
@WoodsboundOutdoors

The small one I use is actually just an old Ozark Trail hatchet I've had for several years similar to a Fiskars hatchet. Great little hatchet but they don't it make anymore, the Fiskars version is better quality anyways. But as Diablo mentioned, Gransfors Bruk makes one of the best hatchet/axe you can get if you want to spend the money
@ChristIsKing12
@ChristIsKing12 Ай бұрын
@@DiabloOutdoors Thanks for the tips, I already have a good puck and I have bought a previous Axe that lasted a good while until the handle broke, so I had to switch back to my old one. I will keep researching for good quality but not as expensive axes to buy, but thanks for the suggestions.

Interesting, but..... you forgot THE most important tip of all. One that could change your life. I'll fix it for you by sharing with everyone: When going in bear country, always make sure to bring along that friend who has all of the best and most amazing gear you can't afford. And: a) make sure he runs slower than you b) bring, and attach on his back, a sign saying "I taste honey".

There has been a recent trend of folks posting nonsense, elongated videos that are incredibly unhelpful, this is a perfect example. The equivalent of those that post “wait until the end” on a reel. Or when you posted “Here’s why you should carry a magnesium pencil sharpener”. 😂😂 way more common than a lighter right?
