I thoroughly enjoyed Final Destination. It was a fairly original take on the horror genre about fate catching up with those it had missed. The sequels were quite watchable too. Masters of the Universe was really a kids film that had all kinds of production issues due to budget issues. That the director managed to even complete it considering the problems he had was a minor miracle. Roadhouse is a great example of 1980s excess but I put it pretty much in the same bracket as the Tom Cruise film Cocktail in that its not to be taken seriously. As for XXX, I always felt it was just an expensive James Bond parody, a one joke movie with a not very good actor in the lead role. That it did well enough to get a sequel is something of a mystery.

I will say Birdemic was truly awful. 🤣 There are two types of bad movies: 1. You know it's bad, but you keep watching in hopes it will get better and 2. You know it's bad, but you keep watching just to see how much worse it will get... Aka "train wreck" movie. Birdemic was definitely the second. 😜🤣

Wow a lot of love for Final Destination. It does feel like a pretty good Twilight Zone episode. The original Wicker Man was very good. Cage in this role apparently wants his arm back. XXX felt like an attempt to modernize James Bond. It had more in common with Our Man Flint, which was better and made in 1966. More like The 2nd Best secret Agent in the World 1965 though that was an attempt to make Bond but cheaper. They did at times speak of that other guy, in character. Road House was Dawson's secret guilty pleasure movie on Dawson's Creek.

I love how martial arts are so often considered as 'Karate' even if they are clearly a different martial art - the biggest sinner in this I feel is the Jaden Smith version of The Karate Kid which makes it clear that the student is being taught Kung Fu despite the title. In this video - Sy even refers to Tae Kwon Do in Miami Connection before referring to the movie as a Karate Movie. Pick a lane...is it Karate? Kung Fu? Tae Kwon DO? or something completely different? Does that make Kung FU hustle a Karate Movie?
