Talk 10 "The Mystery of Being Perfected in Our Poverty", "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Cor 12:9). Through this we can live out the virtues of thanksgiving and mercy "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his mercy endures forever! (Ps 136:1).
We welcome this year Fr. Michael O'Connor O.P. as he preaches "The Little Way to God" -Spiritual Poverty as the Little Way to Spiritual Childhood. This retreat will be broken up into two parts wherein Part 1 (Talks 1-5) will focus on contemplating the mystery of poverty. With the help of St. Therese this poverty becomes a springboard for us to become little children through the poverty of our nothingness before God as part of her Little Way, behold here is the "Little Door". Part 2 (Talks 6-10) will focus upon how we can live out this spiritual poverty, and in like manner become more and more like little children before God.
Through our little nothingness we are led to trust in God like a child trusts in his good Father, or as St. Therese said to Sr. Agnes "to remain little is to recognize our nothingness and to expect everything from the Father".
