@Briae4 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Modern feminism-she still has her own successful brand, business, hobbies, and is very independent. She just wants a certain level for men. If a woman is improving herself, why can't men? She is not saying don't work, just date men who make your work optional.

My mother (one of the most elegant women I know) would wake up, do her hair and makeup and put on a beautiful lounge wear set and clean the house. I asked her when I was little (after seeing friends’ moms who most decidedly did NOT dress for housework) why she did this. She told me that personal appearance and manners should be something you do for yourself, to feel good for your own self esteem. The side effect of that was that my brother and I got to learn refinement as a normal way of life and I have thanked her profusely over the years for her example! Ladies, your children watch you most when you are behind closed doors and you are doing them a tremendous service by being an example and making manners and elegance a way of life for them. My mother grew up very poor and although I never met my grandmother, my mom always said her motto was that she may not have the best of everything but everything she had would be the best she could possibly make it. My mother and father worked their way up from humble beginnings and I think those lessons that were ingrained in my mother (and my father as well) had a lot to do with that. We are not tremendously wealthy by any means, but I can walk into higher society and be very confident thanks to the care my parents took to instill those manners in me!

What is this red flag you are concerned about? She doesn't hide the fact that she's promoting her classes and why should she? I find her you tube video's very helpful.
@miraim43844 жыл бұрын
@Xx Xx Both my parents do about everything in this video and I just follow them. There's no need to generalize. Nowadays, children don't learn elegance etiquette (except for the basics i.e burping in public) and wonderful people like Anna provide these types of videos for free to people who want to live this way. And you, a person who uses such elementary terms ("idiot" and "crap"), probably need to watch more of her videos to be more affluent yourself.

Completely agree about girls not being taught this now.. I hear very well spoken young women swearing as their talking about something casually (they're not even angry!) They think they look good, or trendy must be insecurity or something. So I don't think parents teach these things to their kids anymore its quite evident when you're out and about. That's why people like Anna are a voice for reminding us of these things, despite enrolling in her classes or not that's besides the point.

I come from a 3rd world country and i grew up appreciating the little things and not worrying about how i will be percieved. People don't love you for your etiquette people love you for just being you and if they don't accept you for who you are even if that means drink water out of a bottle slouching on the couch, no etiquette whats so ever then they just aren't real friends. And if people have time to have etiquette values then great but 1) don't shon people who don't and 2) man you are missing out on just being a free spirit.

My rule of thumb is "Use items that are timeless". It's easy to get carried away by the current trends that come up every day. With time they become outdated, and they tend to fall apart if they weren't constructed properly. You don't have to get extremely expensive antiques if you can't. But think it through and see if whatever you're buying will carry you through the seasons, and if it will still be appropriate when you're older

In Canada noone ever wears outdoor shoes in the house. However, with the trend in decor more & more towards hardwood over carpet, I find visitors are terribly disrespectful in my home with my carpeted rooms. It's usually people with their kids. I can tell they are given free reign to run around at home with dirty, bare feet in the summer...in & out of the back yard & home. Running around the house with messy snacks allowed in every room. Since their hardwood can be easily cleaned, they have zero etiquette in a carpeted space.

The elegant lifestyle is all about self-respect and valuing one's self. Some people will not be able to comprehend this lifestyle. For me, it means the world as I was brought up in an abusive home and never felt valued, cherished, or loved, much less shown respect. Practicing this lifestyle has taught me self-love and how to truly value one's self. So thank you, Anna Bey. For me, these videos have more value than a topical application. My partner is from old money, and I’m very fortunate that he’s generous and buys me very nice flowers. I’ve some what turned into a flower snob! I agree flowers make me so happy😘

@belleshaw Does your partner happen to have a single brother?😅

Why is it an old money thing to buy flowers? Maybe for American men. It's just normal for most European guys/men to buy you flowers rich or poor,new money or old money.

DakotaEden buying flowers is pretty normal in the us, I think she’s just saying she is thankful to get it often

I absolutely agree! Even though we are at home, we MUST take care of ourselves.

My Mother and her sister attended _Finnishing School_ as young ladies. I was fortunate enough to benefit from her experience although I hated it at the time. 🌺

You are so elegant that even when you try to slouch on purpose you can't do it! Lol. Oh, and by the way, in my book, you are an angel. 😇

I laughed when she said don't fart in front of your partner. My husband watched me give birth twice. I think we are waaaay beyond the no farting rule. 😂

@@silencedogood9747 this is a rule for trophy wives whose main job is to be attractive and "elegant", not real world wives. She probably would tell you not to tend to your terminally ill husband in the hospital because it's not elegant.
@silencedogood97474 жыл бұрын
@@ShaferHart lol I know right? Sooner or later though, trophy wives have to be "real people" in some way, shape or form. You can't be with someone any length of time and not be.

I have a colleague who has toilet paper on her desk all year around, she uses it for everything ... It drives me crazy !
@personincognito39894 жыл бұрын
It does look very tacky and kind of gross because it reminds you of toilet and things we do on the toilet. And has the role she brought been in the toilet previously?
