The people are worth it. I’ve been there the whole month of February and a scuba diving learning experience. Everybody was so nice. I’ll be retiring there this year.

Hi Brian, try to travel to other places/provinces as well.. yes, BGC is beautiful and all (I know, my son's been working there for almost 3yrs now) but The Philippines has a lot more to offer.. you will definitely enjoy the different areas of our country.

We also pay a premium for the same Philippine products in the US. Magnolia ice cream costs the same $10 at grocery store but whats funny is Tanduay and Ginebra - they are inexpensive back home but is considered top shelf here.

@genelyncihla6951 My Filipina Girlfriend has a good office job and seeing her monthly expenses living in Manila, the money goes fast and doesn't get her ahead. The only advantage an American has is the currency exchange rate. A little money in the usa is quite a bit more in the Philippines.

anywhere in the world, your life sucks if you don't have money at all. At least in the Philippines, you'll still survive if you are in the province and if you don't care whatever job you will get. You don't have heating to worry about on cold weather.

You're beginning to sound cliche, Brian. Maybe it's time to change the topics and settings of your narrative. It's almost always the pros and cons of living in the Phils, and you do that within the comfortable confines of BGC. You talk about language barrier as if a typical Filipino should speak English in a way that meets the American standard. I'm Filipino, and whenever a foreign vlogger talks about my country in a patronizing (it's-great-but) way, it hurts a little.
@rynophiliac

It’s the same topics over and over just rewritten. My guess is it’s AI generated narration and he just reads it as a voice over with the video he shoots during the day. Pretty easy way to make some side cash.

@0:40 $600 for a high rise apartment with a view in BGC? Wow! I envy you. That is exactly how much I was paying for my bedroom accommodation 10 years ago in Carson, California. Then I moved to a 1-bedroom apartment in Long Beach, CA for $2100 two years after. I could have been living the life in BGC.

Just guessing if your 1 pm appointment time means 2 pm to them, does that mean you make an appointment for 12 pm to get the appointment at the right time of 1 pm? At least this way, there is less time to wait. Maybe only one hour instead of 2 hours? I am not likely to travel there any time soon, so it is not relevant to me, but just asking for clarification for others.

Brother, your $7k income suffices all your needs and wants as a starter, if you plan to move here with your wife. Around $1.5k/month definitely would be more than enough especially if you prefer simple and frugal lifestyle, not too fancy aka western. Cheers!🤙🏻

Brian do you know that I can use my Humana supplement insurance medical and dental in the Philippines from Medicare, it's called Humana insurance and it doesn't cost me a thing to have it, I tried to tell other KZbinrs about it but they don't seem to be interested to mention anything about it on their blog, and the good thing about Humana insurance is that it pays really good

For AMERICAN SHOPPING YOU WOULD HAVE TO TRAVEL TO SUBIC AREA FOR THE EVERYTHING AMERICAN PRODUCT FOR HALF THE PRICE THERE I JUST GAVE YOU THE PLACE WHERE TO BUY AMERICAN GROCERY PRODUCT SAME PRICE AS THE STATE BUT EXPECT TO PAY IN DOLLARS.
@MariaSasaReyes
@MariaSasaReyes 19 сағат бұрын
I don't know if that is practical.. yes, he can buy things there for half the price but he has to travel at least 3-4hrs just going there (depends on traffic in NLEX), then there's the Toll fees.. If he goes via Bus, it will take longer.. if he plans to stay, then the hotel fees plus food.. so basically the expenses are the same if he will just buy in BGC or even much expensive and time consuming..

It's humid in the Philippines because it sits on a volcanic archipelago within the Pacific ring of fire, it has numerous active volcanoes spread across its islands,heat from sea air and winds contributed for a very hot weather ,your body should adjust already.Philippines is one of those countries which are located near the equator, where the sun rays directly hit, from March to June, you can expect hot and dry weather. Although you're ahead 13 hours over NY that's a good thing.Philippines is a very special place,cmposed of a large archipelagos, meaning it's surrounded by water and doesn't share land borders with other countries..He's a freaking unicorn princess I might add..bordering countries like China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia, yet ,this princess is separated from those places through bodies of water. Philippines is a unicorn princess,can you imagine every Filipinos sing at the same time in Karaoke?can you imagine China borders with the Philippines, Ph will have Xin-Ping as president.

Brian you need to crawl out of your BGC bubble and expand your horizons. Start by driving around town. It’s a blast to drive in the Philippines. Maybe get a Mazda Miata MX5 or Porsche or BRZ Subaru. Bring a nice Filipina with you to negotiate with a traffic control officer if he pulls you over. Just slide that 500 pesos under the ticket booklet so the CCTV camera doesn’t pick it up. Enjoy the Wild West of the Philippines.

Are you saying that police will claim that you committed a traffic offense for the sake of soliciting a bribe, like they do in México? I have always wondered about this. In México I had to pay 35 bribes in 3 months because I was driving past a bus station that had police there twenty-four hours a day.
