Agreed on the insanely cold air-con in some places...
@AustralianExpatFinance3 жыл бұрын
I remember when we first visited and the air-con used to be blasted outside the shopping centre to attract visitors in.
@delphinegoh95983 жыл бұрын
@@AustralianExpatFinance yeah, it's a technique employed by malls to attract crowds in... But the difference in temperature is way too much at times. But still hope u will enjoy your time here 😊
@AustralianExpatFinance3 жыл бұрын
@@delphinegoh9598 Yes, the change in temperature between inside and out here can be quite extreme. I certainly love living here, and there really isn't much to complain about.

@@AustralianExpatFinance 😆guess the ones complaining are the local breds.... Like me.... But so long as you like it here lah... 👍

@@delphinegoh9598 Always pros and cons to every place I feel, but I certainly feel that the balance is certainly tilted to the positives here in Singapore.

Why do you say friends come and go ? Do make friends with your Singaporean colleagues or neighbours ! We are a friendly lot and don’t eat people ..😂
@AustralianExpatFinance3 жыл бұрын
Haha - yes I certainly wasn't implying that anyone isn't friendly. Our Singaporean friends tend to stay, but our expat friends might only be here for 2 or 3 years before returning to Australia or elsewhere. Having been here nearly a decade, many friends have come into Singapore, and since moved on to other locations.

@@AustralianExpatFinanceHaha! Noted on that Jarrad.. 😁. My advice to new expats is that they are most welcome here and don’t feel like a stranger and try to assimilate with Singaporeans as we generally would treat visitors as one big family . Btw, I’m surprised you didn’t mention bout the local Supermarkets are in abundance and everywhere, you can find about everything that you need . 😊 . Have a nice day and stay ..🌸

@@meilizaagoes3639 That's excellent advice, and I'd certainly hope that most new Australian expats look to assimilate in Singapore. After all, that's really how you get to truly experience a new place. The abundance of supermarkets wasn't really one I needed to know before arriving, but certainly a bonus of life in Singapore. Nowadays, we have just about everything available online.
