I was always under the impression her store items were either donated, found or things she owns but doesn’t possess because she’s a free spirit. I’m lease is cheap and she probably has money via police chief pension, her ancestors, and the law of attraction. Plus the BnB is making a killing I’m sure plus she holds venues there.

Yeah I feel like there were probably new writers, new social commentary, etc that made it feel a bit disjointed and stuff taken out and thrown in at random. But I still liked the overall positive flow with an edge that the show carried. Too bad its over...

The show also seems to ignore the early movies. Originally, Cassie was nothing like she evolved into. In the first few movies she was more of a travelling gypsy than a witch. And for the first 3-4 movies, Martha hated her and wanted her run out of town. Early on in the series it is established Cassie's husband/Grace's dad was killed in the line of duty. While Cassie and Sam's relationship is the basis of the series, I wonder what it would have been like if the actor who played her husband had been available to continue? The only doesn't make sense thing that gets me is how sometimes they say it's a certain time of year but yet it doesn't seem to be (summer and yet there is snow on the ground)?

P change in life why cant charectors .yes Martha didnt like her but when Martha's boys vandalized cassie's shop and she refused. To press charges Martha started to change her views and as time went on martha grew to love her it's even mentioned in one episode. The series is based on the life of a wo.an who came to Middleton call it home cause grey house was hers to claim.

Not only George's wife, but her family (son and daughter and 2 grandkids). There's also Cassie's other house she had with Jake from the movies. Even Cassie's history doesn't make sense from movie to tv series.

One thing that bothered me was George was the father to the dead wife of Jakes. But Grace refers to him as Grandpa. Also George was married when the movies ended, and when the TV show started his wife is gone and no one mentions it at all. Yes the Bell Book and Candle was open in the first movie before she married Jake or had Grace. So basically Consistence was not a priority in this show at all.

I call someone Aunt who isn't related by blood or marriage.... It's not that odd to people who understand you can choose family. And, when Cassie and Jack got married, Jack told him he'd be welcomed as Grandpa as long as he wanted, even if he and Cassie had kids.

The teenage girl changing her choice for what she wants to do for a future job is NOT an inconsistency with the story line. *Kids change their minds all the time about what they want to do with their lives when they become adults. This often continues into their college years as students often change their majors and may even add on a new minor when something peaks their interest. And how many adults change jobs when they find their choice is boring or incompatible to their current perspective on life? We are on a journey of self-discovery that often takes many twists and turns. It is best to embrace life and live it to the fullest even if our choices do not make sense to outsiders, who seem to be more focused on controversy and keeping things stirred up...just because they can and they think they could make some money off being contrary.

Well I noticed how Season 6 had Joy connecting with the contractor dude, then he just disappeared and she went to Vermont in-between seasons with her old partner, didn't work out and came back as a Lesbian. And absolutely nothing is wrong with the show adding LGBT, but it seemed less in service of the story and more in service of social commentary. Anyway they made a cute couple but was just so rushed being the final season. I would like to see more seasons or more movies.

so i binged watched all 7 seasons on netflix. never saw the movie. here are a few discrepancies that drove me nuts! (dont get me wrong, I loved the show) firstly, i assumed Middleton was somewhere in upstate NY, but in season 3, Cassy takes a trip to Chicago, which is "3 hours by car". That basically makes Middleton a town in either IL, northern IN or Michigan ( northern states - cool temps in early fall). That being said, the months/seasons were always way off. During several Halloween episodes, everyone was dressed for summer, leaves were still green, flowers in bloom. The weeping willow tree in front of Grey house was lush green one day, autumn yellow or bear the next. Props were way off. coffee poured by stephany was clearly water. Hot tea was served, again with water no tea bag. The Graduation (Grace and Nick high school) clearly in the month of June and everyone is dressed for winter. Cassie and Sams Halloween wedding is cancelled by a flood. They marry several months later which should be dead of winter (February) but it's outdoors and warm.

The Radford Lake house has changed 3 times and has looked different in season 1,4 and 6. Grace was 15 when she first started the series. Brandon’s character has changed in the series too. He started off being played by Matthew Knight and then they changed by Dan Jeannotte

Man, the shop making 13th aniversary and Grace was like 15, I got it, though I have a theory that in Middletown time is not like... maybe its close to a black hole or something, cos I swear I saw (in the series) like 2 halloweens, 3 snowfalls (and 3 seasons, at least) and several other "yearly" events and then, "hey, it has been one year since Sam moved to this town, we need make a secret surprise party to him", LOL... also, some people seems to age faster than others, who can tell? :O

Yes because the first store burned it was on an end of a building had a side entrence to an alley. Also the bistro and flower shop were shown at first across the street from each other but when stephanie rented the space nxt to her to open her catering place the renovations disturb abigale and she interns hooks up so much appliances it throws a short to Stephanie's building.

The bell book and candle was number 71, thorough the whole show, then in S2 Ep 3/4 it’s 107 haha haha😂.. also it’s laughable how many times the bistro and the Bell, Book and Candle changes the outside, there’s lights, then there’s no lights, then there is lights, then there’s wood sticking out, then there isn’t, then the writing is one colour, then another hahaha😂it’s hilariously inaccurate but I still love the show!! It’s all about the feel good factor!! Also, when the realtor was meant to be stuck as blairsville in S1 during the storm - the high street clearly showed the high street at Middleton as the Thai restaurant is shown several times afterwards 😂

Even in the movies, there was never ACTUAL magic, it has always been that wink and this "I know", "how?", "I just do" kind of smile. It's only in season 7 that they actually get called witches, before they were just reffered as "gifted", also in that season you can see what kind of "witches" they are, everything is explained! @@warmpuppynoses216 Watch the series again. There are a lot of subtle instances of them using their powers. Grace uses hers to help clean up the game closet with Nick, and makes his library card appear in a deck of cards. Cassie lights the fire at the bonfire in the movie Curse from a Rose, also she makes the sheet covering the fireplace fall in Secrets of Grey House. And every single time she knows Sam is behind her, or her phone rings, or she appears out of nowhere she's using her abilities. The Merriwick powers include insight, intuition, pyrokinesis, telekinesis, mystical object creation, scrying, teleportation, and premonition. Cassie, Grace, Abigail, and Joy all share some of these and some powers are specific to the witch.

I love the movies and I love the show, I've just learned to separate them in my mind as two different entities so that I can enjoy them better. That being said, I think the biggest mistake in the show is how at the end of season 1 (or 2?) Sam was supposed to meet Cassie at a festival and didn't show up. It was very dramatic and he was thought to be missing and it was left as a cliffhanger. The next season opens with everything back to normal and no mention of his being missing at all.

I just got done watching the full series on Netflix and I’m a big fan of the movies as well. I think they did do a fairly decent job when characters exited the show. Nick and Grace went off to college, Ryan left for other business opportunities, Tara and Brandon did the same, though it bothered me that in season 2 they were exploring them becoming parents story line and that felt to me like it was never really wrapped up well. Also it was fine that Tara gave up her schooling but then it’s like did she go back to school or what was the business opportunity because that was never really mentioned either. I also was confused about Lori as in the beginning of the show she was a traveling journalist but then in one episode she decided to stay in Middleton and write for the local paper then later on it said she was traveling again so that confused me like did she get her old job back or what exactly happened there? I just feel like the show had some plot points that were kind of just tossed aside. I also understand that maybe some of the actors had things come up so they couldn’t be in the show but there could have been better explanations as to their disappearances. As far as Cassie giving things out for free there were instances where people did pay her and like others mentioned there was an episode where she was working on finances and the shop was successful, plus she also had the bed and breakfast, and taught for a while as well so that one never really bugged me. As far as Abigail she was way different in the series compared to the movies but I just chalked that up to character development off screen so that didn’t bug me much either. As far as how old the bell book and candle is Cassie opened it in the first movie when Jake and her first met so though it’s a bit off that also didn’t bug me as much. That line from Nick didn’t really bug me either as even though he was new in town he kind of noticed how Grace was just by observation. Also Grace switching focus and what she wants to study didn’t weird me out at all as a lot of people go through the same thing at that age in college in real life. Even Sam said to her in one episode it was normal. The timeline of the show is off though but it was in the movies as well a bit so I was used to that. It would have been nice if they had some consistency though with Graces age and even with times with Stephanie as she had mentioned being in Middleton her whole life but yet she was never in the movies. I have heard people mention that it’s strange that Grace calls George grandpa when he even mentioned being the father of Jake’s first wife but even in the movies Grace called him grandpa. I think this was just because he was around a lot and since he was grandpa to Lori and Brandon it just felt right that Grace felt like another grandkid to him. Overall the the thing that bothered me most about the show compared to the movies is like I said above about some of the plot points kind of being pushed aside so your left wondering what kind of happened in parts of the show. Overall it’s a good show though and I enjoyed it. I do prefer the movies over the series though but the series is still worth the watch. The movies had some inconsistencies too but not nearly as many as the series. Overall both the movies and series are good though. 🙂
