For us, it’s sex over 50 (I am 53, he’s 62). At our age, the 9 year age difference is barely noticeable. Although we have great sex, the main difference is we don’t do it nearly as often as in our 20’s. We average about 2 to 3 times a week, and the ‘round two’ happens much less often than it used to.

LMFAO!! I agree with almost all of these! I'm a night person so the "no calls after dark" thing isn't my style but everything else is pretty spot on. The "drop to your knees" comment, omg! 😂 I have gotten over the embarrassment of him offering a hand to help me up. I just say thanks and take the offer these days, usually while we laugh about it! For me the worst is switching from doggy to missionary. I LOVE doggy. He just hits ALL the spots. He likes missionary. He likes to see my face and watch me finish or we finish together. But the transition... Omg! My knees don't hurt at all while I'm in position. But when I go to straighten them, holy hell! It takes a good minute for me to straighten them out and switch up positions. I'm just not the slinky sex kitten I see myself as anymore. 😢 Ah well. We still have a good time! I really enjoy your content Patrick. You always make me smile and help brighten my day. Cheers!

Don't relate with most of the things, I'm 45 in a month. Yeah I forget where my things, but I'm in a good shape even compared with younger men, my sex drive is on top, dating a 27 year old and no problem with my body. Dressing mature and modern, still can go to clubs with my friends who all are younger than me. We're as old as we behave (yes i do get annoyed at teenagers especially girls with this loud screaming voice 😊)

Quite a bit of what you've said resonates - I'm 18 years older than you - but there are some differences. Many of the behaviours you describe started pretty early with me, but progressed slowly. Even when I was a young person many young people annoyed me and for similar reasons - I was a curmudgeon at 20, apparently. I stopped answering the phone if I didn't recognise the number almost 30 years ago. I lost interest in partying hearty in my mid-20s so I haven't noticed a lengthier recovery time over the last 40 years, but around 15 years ago I realised I definitely didn't want to have as many drinks as my (brief) party days. My body has changed, of course: around 10 years ago spicy foods started to give me indigestion once in a while, and even just a half-pint of draft beer started giving me an instant headache. I can still eat spicy foods but I'm aware of the possibility of discomfort and I no longer drink draft. However, I can still drink three (count 'em, three) pints of cider with no problem. I regard this last as a small victory. My knees have been dodgy since my early 20s because of childhood injuries, but if I were to be lucky enough to get lucky these days, I would have no compunction about putting on my gardening knee pads first. (Laugh at my knee pads, eh? How about some self-service instead?). Of course, this leads to your last point about not giving much of a fuck any more.😁

Every point is the same for me, except nr 4. I don’t relate to that. I always answer my (cell)phone between 06:00 and 22:00 and not outside those hours. It’s dark here at 16:30 in winter and 22:30 at summer, so after dark doesn’t work for me. In summer on workdays I’m already at sleep at 22:15. Only close family and two close friends will get through (my iPhone settings) and get me on the phone during the night, they know they can always call me if there is a real emergency. It has been like this my whole life, not gonna change that because Im getting old(er).

I am 60 years old. Even to me that’s old. But the one thing I hate about being +40 Is the lack of community. I don’t mind going out. I actually look forward to it and after over 40 years in the gym I still have the energy of a young kid and can keep my ass on the dance floor. I look forward to any circuit party, I can get to. I don’t I get older it seems people just don’t wanna be around me anymore like I’m the old man the albatross in the room. I think there are a lot of gay men that are extremely alone and very lonely. I think this is an epidemic in Gay men’s culture. I have an awful lot of older, gay male friends on Facebook and we all tend to spend an awful lot of time on there.

"Comfort over fashion" means little in a shorts-and-hoodie age. One thing that often changes for gay men over 40 is how welcome they are, or are not, on the dance floor--uh, or so they tell me--unless it's a daddy club where they line dance on Tuesdays. (That kind of parallels the Young People Become Annoying one, especially when they say "Yeah, right, Grandma.") As for #1, that depends on how well stocked you are on the little blue pills.

Ok i can relate to most of these . Firstly, I also tend to misplaced things not every time but it has its moments and I like to be very organized in my daily life. Another one yes its seems I am not the only one , walking into a room freeze for a moment and click what am i doing here. Sometimes getting so busy with things I tend to forget what i was actually supposed to do. Talking about sex I like staying fit and go to the gym but the worst is during sex I sometimes in certain position will get a cramp in my leg which disrupts the whole fun of it even when i am in bed and stretching my leg it happens too but not often. Yes younger folks "Hooligans'' I can get so annoyed with them sometimes especially if its people trying to be smarter than you or doing just stupid things or being loud but remember we where there age too weren't we and also young dump and full of cum!!?? and now thinking about it when you mention it Patrick is why are we now being the opposite of that mostly we are for one we are acting our age . But i do social with people younger than me its not all young people but most of them can be annoying. And yes i am also one for please leave me alone after 9PM that is the only time i can just switch off and not bother about what happen in the day .

Here are a couple of 'over 60' things (that potential partners should keep in mind): 1. We don't bend like we used to. Don't force us into positions that our bodies don't want to go in! That's not always stiffness, sometimes it's an old injury finally saying 'enough!'. 2. Medicines have side effects! You have to pee often when you used to be able to go 16 hours between pees. You get vertigo. Your energy is zapped. 3. Medical issues. Who knew you could have weird eczema that gives you water blisters on your feet, or aural migraines without pain, or a slipped disc is impinging on your sciatic nerve and half your left foot is numb which causes you to occasionally careen into walls? Oh, and the heart issues that make you a walking sprinkler at the slightest exertion (even after two arterial stents), and makes it impossible to be comfortable sleeping in a position other than one exact way that you have to maintain through the night. 4. Don't make us get up immediately in the morning. It takes a while to take inventory of our body and determine the optimal way to exit the bed with the least amount of pain. It's an art and it takes time ;)
