Not only is this movie is eminently quoteable, but the wordplay, the puns, the back-and-forth, the insults, the deadpan, the slapstick, the sight gags, and recurring gags.... They all just add to its value. The movie is practically perfect.

Exactly why it should NOT be remade. Hollywood, stop redoing movies that were perfect the 1st time! Judy Garland will ALWAYS be Dorothy, Gene Wilder will ALWAYS be Willy Wonka, and everyone in Clue will ALWAYS be...well, murderers. But the funniest damn murderers ever!

Certainly not forgotten! I grew up in the 80s and 90s and my sister and I would watch the movie CLUE everyday during the summertime. We would close the blinds, turn off the lights and pump up the sound! I'd say the hard part would be getting a funny cast (doesn't have to be legends, not everyone in clue was that big, at least back then), that had the chemistry and could play off each other that well. It's another one of those perfect storm movies that seem increasingly rare.

I guess the characters could start out getting aliases so still end up Miss Scarlet or Prof Plum. But definitely keep it a comedy to make it more unique. Not many comedy mysteries set in country houses.

I'm a member of The Junior Chamber of Commerce Players (JCCP) which is the official "Rocky Horror" shadowcast group for Pittsburgh, PA, and we've performed a full shadowcast of "Clue" a couple of times. It's one of those movies that actually lends itself to a shadowcast very well as it has a small cast of only 14 characters (plus a few random FBI agents and cops at the very end) and none of the characters change costumes throughout the movie. Unfortunately, it wasn't until recent years that performing a shadowcast for the movie became a bit more doable as Paramount had a reputation for sending cease-and-desist letters to various shadowcasts who were attempting to perform the show. I don't know if the powers that be have simple changed hands, or of someone realized that shadowcasts can actually increase ticket sales, but more and more shadowcasts have begun to perform "Clue" without problem in recent years.

Love this movie! When it came out in ‘85 I remember I looked up the playing times, theaters and endings playing at each theater in our local newspaper. As I recall, the newspaper listing would state whether it was ending “A”, “B”, or “C”. Anyway, they definitely got their bucks out of me. 😄.

There was also a double VHS game with additional characters like Miss Peach, Sgt Gray and Mr. Brown. It was an 80s (before the movie) interactive game. We had both VHS tapes.

You should do "Murder by Death", it is an excellent movie that has Truman Copote in it, that alone makes it interesting.

No mention of the Psych Clue episode?! Lloyd and Warren starred in it. A great episode in one of the best tv shows ever. Tim Curry starred in my favorite Psych episode where he played one of the judges for a singing competition titled American Duos. Really funny and great appearance by Curry.

The most famous actor in this cast when the movie was made was Madeline Kahn, but she doesn’t get a mention.

Watch your channel faithfully, but have to say most of these things most people do know. Still. Keep up the good work. The alternate endings was to reflect true game play: who knows how it will turn out? It would have been great to know how and why Mr. Boddy, Yvette's and Wadsworth's character came to be since not in the game. PART 2!

5:15 Wait...w...wait, wh-what? Superman musical, what? There was a Superman musical? Slightly hilarious, honestly, that I'm more shocked about that than I am about anything else in this video. XD The Cluedo history bit was fascinating, though.

I always think that is Susan Sarandon in Leslie Ann Warren's role. They look very similar.. Also check out "Murder by Death" which they had to use for inspiration. Eileen Brennan was actually in both movies.

Clue is a total cult classic. It is one of the most rewatchable movies ever made. It's out on 4K Blu-Ray. The transfer to 4K was done with the original negatives, and it looks great.

There is a theater company doing a play based on Clue which is top notch! (I’m in the Midwest). They did a great job moving from room to room and Wadsworth is amazing!

Minty, I love these videos, keep them up! BUT, HIS NAME IS JASON BATEMAN, not JUSTIN. His sister is the actress Justine Bateman, from Family Ties. You have called him Justin Bateman in a few videos now... ❤😂

You should do one of these on Murder By Death! It’s the original clue! It’s hilarious and the actress who plays Mrs Peacock is in it too. She was in her 20s!

There were also a series of short novels aimed at kids, where a rich Mr. Boddy apparently gets murdered every time, and you're supposed to figure out whodunnit, except he lives to experience attempted murder another day. The thing I remember most was some food preparation scene, with Prof. Plum asking Col. Mustard what condiments he used, and the Colonel raging at Plum about how he 'didn't use any candy mints'. I actually did have the board game too, and would occasionally get a chance to play it. I had a similar game as well, 13 Dead-End Drive. Almost certainly a Clue knockoff of some sort.
