the reason a lot of stores don’t steam/iron/wash their clothes is because anything that is not in original condition is considered damaged. so like when clothes shrink or lettering might get messed up from the heat or even just washed with no visible changes, the item is still considered damaged. the store wouldn’t be able to sell it after that. great video!

@@ZoeStclair-lw3xi Congrats! for me it was around 2 weeks, they have to get paper work and all of that figured out for everyone! if you have contact to your manager or anything like that don't be scared to ask them questions! From my experience they love someone that is willing to ask and learn everything about Tillys though you will learn a lot everyday! I hope you enjoy your job! It's such a friendly but also very hard working environment. You'll for sure make great memories with your co-workers and customers!

@@lizvs4412 Yes! Mine was a group interview, but I'm not sure that all locations do group interviews. Volunteer to answer first if you have an answer, and try not to just agree with the others interviewing, but offer insight of your own!

Yes! I would definitely go into the store and talk to the manager. Its great to put a face to the name and make a good first impression! Usually when you do this, jobs will pull your application and put it on the top because now you are more than just an application, they've actually met you! Good luck!!

​@@veronicaibarra2861 not a bad company, but i work there now and think there are a lot of better places you could apply to. the hours are iffy, and you have to deal with karens and holiday season rushes. you get punished as a cashier if you get a string of people unwilling to give you their email so tillys can spam them with coupons that only work online for them to come in and try to use and then bitch when we cant apply them. the cash wrap system is ancient probably 30 years old and takes about 1-2 minutes to load everytime you click a button or try to search for an item (oh, but the CFO just bought another 30 million dollar Bugatti). they do "extended shifts" meaning your MIGHT work 12-5 but its on there in black as a separate shift from 5:30 to 9, so they can randomly choose to "extend" you and make you stay an extra 3-4 hour with a 30 minute break. (they never tell you if they need you to stay until right when you are about to clock out, so basically on weekends or anything you waste 3 hours after your shift since you can't make plans and need to basically assume you are staying). you can't kick customers out after close so people can walk in 30 minutes after you close if other people still haven't left and you need to stay until everyone is gone. the discount is pretty decent but everything at tillys is already super overpriced so its still not great since you can't apply it onto anything already discounted. finally, the COVID clean is fucking horrible. you are forced to clean after every transaction (COVID has a 1 in 10,000 chance of spreading on surface from contact, half the time the customer doesnt even touch the counter), you have to deep clean the store every 3 hours (touching things nobody touches either like???) and they watch the cameras and if you miss one little thing you can get written up. overall, you can find a lot better places to work especially in retail.

@@veronicaibarra2861 the companies whole priorities are out of whack. they just bought our store brand new phones yet the cash registers are 30 years old and everytime you need to go back or undo something its a 5 minute process and searching for items or placing an online order is 15 minutes. oh, but we have an iPad to lookup product with no tags. makes 0 sense

update! so i got the interview (the assistant manager interviewed me) then the manager called me over and went over my resume and asked questions, then he told me he’ll call me on monday and lmk if i got the job. does that mean i didn’t get in?

I personally loved it! It was my favorite part of the job. Id say the worst part is the pressure of getting people to sign up for rewards. But most cash registers tell you exactly how much change to give!

Wow that's awesome! They must have really liked your application. I'm sure there will be training if you're interested in the management position! If you want it, totally go for it! But don't feel pressured to take a higher up position if you don't want it.

Hi! Thanks for watching and congrats on your interview! You could go either way, but I was always taught to stay away from jeans for interviews! I think I wore a dress, jacket, and cute boots to mine, but there's nothing wrong with jeans and a stylish top! But if you have a unique style, I say go for it and show it off! If you have anything from Tillys that would be appropriate to wear, that would be cool too because it shows you were a customer first before applying!

Channysupreme for Tillys? Good luck! Just try to make yourself easy to approach and don't be afraid to ask questions! They asked me some silly interview questions so try and think of unique answers. Just show that you really want the job and won't be afraid to learn and talk to customers and I'm sure you'll get it!

Hi!! Congratulations on getting an interview! Thats so exciting! My interview was a group interview, so I'm assuming that's how yours will be too! My biggest piece of advice for group interviews is to make sure to have your own answers to the questions. Try not to just say "yeah I agree" to everyone else's answers. If you truly do agree with someone else's answer, say that you agree and then expand on why you agree! I also suggest not being afraid to be the first one to speak up and answer the questions asked! Also, don't be afraid to ask questions! Employers love it when you are interested about the company and the job and thought of some questions to ask. Hope that helped! Good luck!!

Sounds like the forcing of customer interaction was kind of the culture at your location. I work at a Tillys in cali, and aslong as your saying hi to peopleas they come into your section and being nice to everyone your good.. no need to harass them haha. If you suspect someone of theft then yea customer service them to death but other than that no reason.
