With Version 38 onwards they started enabling firewall out of the box. its called FIREWALLD.

Bro try to download some file from the internet for example windows 11 ISO. The max speed it has to do is 12.5 Mega Byte Per Second (MB/S). If its slow .. Ask your Internet service provider ...

@@kskroyaltech Yea, i have to agree, i switched from W11 to PopOS two weeks ago and it's brilliant. I wanna try some other distros especially Fedora, but if KsK sayed Pop is better I'll stay here. Of course i got some problems (black screen after sleep for example witch Nvidia driver, but nothing horrible).

@@S4m0s so yesterday I decided to ditch windows and installed linux for the first time, I decided to go with Pop OS, I broke it in just one night, I liked the tiling window stuff but hated everything else. The file manager is atrocious, the design is weird, I started installing extensions to make my life easier but ended up destroying the OS, I just instaled this Fedora now and can already tell the design is so much better. I just don`t know if I`m really suposed to install of those things by myself and using terminal. Don`t the native app store updater install every update my system needs? because the first thing I do once I finish installing is folowing the OS instructio to update the drivers and apps on the app store, is it wrong? also, can I get the Pop OS dock menu and windows behaviour? Fedora comes with this weird superkey fullscreen only dock and search, I dont like it at all. The windows tiling manager in Pop os is the best thing ive seen in any OS, similar to Ipad OS but on steroids.

It wont affect much and has nothing to do with Windows boot. But if you still hesitate you can cancel the update.

X11 Display server is all time considered to be the best. Most apps cope up very well with X11. WayLand is next level display server that is not fully ready.

@vickyExplains There some apps like SimpleScreenRecorder doesn't work with Wayland. I can agree with you, wayland is better and runs very good on modern hardware. Wayland Pros: Very Smooth Compared to XORG Low Latency Good for laptops (Touch Pad Gestures) Cons: tons of issues with NVIDIA Few Window Managers Stuggle with waylaid.

@ShifinAhmd Use Zorin it has very polished user interface and looks next level. Ubuntu has ton of errors currently. If you still want ubuntu go for 22.04 LTS.

I would recommend you to use either Fedora (I use it and it’s the best in my opinion) or Zorin OS. I’ve used Zorin OS before and it was very stable, never had issues and it was beginner friendly and smooth

Often that's because it turns off turbo boost. I believe there is a gui application that allows you to control some things like when and when not to turn off turbo boost

Basically - you only want autocpu-freq to run when on battery. Or I should say, to limit things when on battery. If you have a laptop that is plugged in to a power source in theory it can run full-tilt (unless it throttles).

I mean if you're running Arch than sure, but Fedora has been very stable in my experience. If I didn't wanna update, I wouldn't run a terminal command in the first place.

​@kazikdom8721 he's joking with you. -y won't do anything. This flag is used for automatic "yes" to prompts. For example, while installing anything, the terminal will ask for "This will take this much storage from your disk. Would you allow? [Y/N]" instead of writing that Y again while installing, the -y will automatically do it for you. So it's not a problem. It is a time saver. And l use it always.
