I will add that if you’re looking for a place, find out how the weather affects the area. Some areas of Miami-Dade & Broward flood so do your homework. 💪🏼 Also, I wouldn’t say that people can’t drive in Miami. People naturally drive aggressively in Miami because they know it will get them to their destination faster 😂 They see everyone else doing it so they pick up the habit.

I find videos like this so crazy (not the youtuber she seems very nice, but the idea of actually wanting to move to Miami). I've lived in miami for 21 years now, in the suburbs, born and raised. I'm half-hispanic and half-white and although i've tried to like miami, I've hated it since i was a kid. That being said I honestly think its amazing that other people want to come here and I'm happy that other people don't have the bias I do against it. All the pros she listed in the video are very true! But i just want to share some of the cons that I think are important to consider before moving here (these are just cons for me, might not be the same for you) 1. The weather is horrible (to me at least): no fall, spring, or winter, straight summer all year round and the humidity is KILLER, mosquitoes everywhere, yes our roaches fly, yes they will get into your house at one point or another, and if i never see another frikin palm tree again it will be too soon 2. the beach- its always crowded, a little dirty (a fair amount of litter), most people just tan, hangout in the water a bit, fish a bit- not much else- if you're looking for that free, peaceful, miami beach vibe that you see in the media- yeah lmk if it actually exists when you get here 3. culture- like i said im half hispanic but i don't speak Spanish- definitely the biggest issue here, up until HS its alright, but after that, talk about no bueno. we have a fair Haitian and jewish population, a bit of asians, some whites, and then anyone else you can think of (like she said it is pretty diverse), BUT spanish is practically a must especially if you want to work in a hospital or a bank or anywhere where English is not a requirement (i.e., a teacher in a private school). Majority of miami is hispanic so yes you have to cater to that population. tbh, its lonely when you're not in the "in crowd" (#deep ik). best advice: find a culture and group that you can be apart of in miami. there are a lot of communities here and I think its so important to really find your niche bc people are not all that nice here. Its true people may hold the door for you sometimes but those same people will get in to there car an go out of there way to not let you merge.

I have never even been and I want to go so bad, I love the idea of warm water beaches, international presence, again lots of people from other states moving there just like Vegas, nightlife is on par (if not better? Idk tbh!) so I really want to scope it out soon! Would a 3 -5 day trip there be enough to see the different neighborhoods? I suppose that depends on my own pace but I’m gonna do it!

Thanks for the video. I’m graduating from university in may 2022. My relative got me a hookup of career choices. I can go into my major (law enforcement) or I can be a fire fighter like him/her. Can’t wait! I’m gonna miss Georgia.

Subscribing now because you’re a taurus 🤩 lol also, I’m 22 and thinking about moving here soon. I’m just kinda skeptical about flooding & the heavy thunder. How do you prepare for that? Because I still wanna come lol
@JessicaTellian3 жыл бұрын
It doesn't happen often. But when it does you will adapt and learn what parts to stay away from (when your driving). Most apartment buildings are prepared for it because its "normal" to them. It is a little scary when it thunders heavy, but that's because I dont like the thunder lol but nothing bad ever happens :)

@@JessicaTellian lml I’m cool with that, I mean I prefer that over being stucked in traffic in my own v then struggling to find park plus paying for it.

Honey when you said traffic can take 40 min I laughed I live in istanbul and to go to my school everyday it's 1 hour traffic so I would die to live in Miami

What you forget to mention in your video is that moving to florida there is NO STATE INCOME TAX ….But the state makes up for it by charging more for food milk, bread etc and clothes!

Hey babe I am from MI and how much are you paying for rent and how soon did you find a job? 💛 I love this so much
@JessicaTellian3 жыл бұрын
I pay around 1,850 but I have seen 1,650 for 1 bedrooms (not sure if the price increased).. I found work right away although it wasn't the specific job I wanted. About 3-4 months in I found better work that aligned with exactly what I want! :)

moving to miami in august! I had to view the complex virtually since im from LA... are you familiar with the ojus area 2.5 miles west from Aventura/sunny isles area, do you think its safe? i wanted away from the tourists and hustle and bustle
@JessicaTellian3 жыл бұрын
Congrats! I’m not familiar with Ojus but what I always hear is the more west the less safe. But honestly Aventura and sunny isles really isn’t touristy! And it’s very close to the beach. When I came I did an air bnb first for about a month and I scouted out the area I wanted to live in! Hope that helps :)

@Meganlifestyle3 жыл бұрын
@@bpom527 least favorite is people don't follow the rules of the road here, I have never seen people drive crazier than here in miami. I would also say I miss the fall breeze and weather, in California there was at least drops in temperature here it seems the same everyday, although I love when it rains. Most favorite is the beaches and food and culture :)
