I also have a small tip that works for me. My furniture placement is such that I do not have to move anything to vacuum or sweep. Meaning nothing is that close to the wall or other object that that the vacuum head can not pass through. 😂😂

Tip to go along with #2. If you have cabinets that dont go up to the ceiling, line the tops with paper towels or tin foil so that every so often you just replace those instead of having to dust and degrease.

I love that you mentioned you don't love to cook or bake, but you'll do it. I often feel guilty about that for some reason. Occasionally I'm excited to cook or bake, but it isn't the norm. But I like having home cooked meals. 🤣 😅

I glad you she mentioned that as well. As they think a woman's job is to keep the house clean and stay in the kitchen😂Wrong, it's a difference when you actually can cook 🤭but you don't have too. Simply, because you don't feel like it. I'm not switching up nothing .I didn't have to do cook when I was younger the people that loved me didn't make me do it😏so keeping that same energy. You should never have to compromise who you are to appease others🤒go find someone who will do it cause I'm not 🤪

Next time you clean your hall light fixture and clean it, take some light car wax or Rain-X and put some on it. It keeps dust from clinging to it and makes it much easier to wipe down. I've done this to as many surfaces as I could in my house: baseboards, mirrors, glass on picture frames, glass shower doors, etc. It's a life changer.

I liked all the ideas and do almost all of them except the stainless fridge😂😂 I completely agree that rugs need to be washable. I love curtains for the same reason I do have a few shutters which are much wider than blinds and using swifter seem to do the job. But in general, I would agree that when you invest in something think how you gonna clean it how are you gonna maintain it? Is this really gonna take too much energy that you want to? And an answer could be yes to some things and definitely know to others . Thank you for inspirations❤

We have a large victorian which is very cold in the winter so I do have 3 large rugs in the common areas they are warm on the feet and the kids sit and play on the floor a lot, but I do wash them on our porch in the summer and roll them up and put them away till the next winter. ♥ We had horizontal blinds in both front windows and I was glad when our old dog ruined the ones in the living room so we could throw them out. My partner's mom bought them for us so he won't let go of the ones in the dining room, even though it looks dumb to have one window with and the other window without on the same wall. He can clean them if he wants to keep them. I have enough to worry about with the intricately detailed chandeliers in the dining room and entryway.

We have blinds in my bedroom because my husband doesn’t want them to go but they always stay up because I refuse to clean them 🤣 so I’m totally with you on that! Ugh. The excess furniture problem. We have a large family, (six kids still living at home, and one already moved out and married with a baby.) And we rent a 2100 sq. ft. home. So keeping my clutter under control is an important part of making hospitality possible. When it comes to furniture, I feel like it’s a catch 22, because I want SPACE for everyone, but also want SEATING for everyone. Right now, my living room would be a more comfortable space without the loveseat. We have a couch, rocker, chair, and loveseat in there, and it’s just too much. But at the same time, if I move the loveseat out, at least two of the kids would end up sitting on the floor every night. This is a tough call for me. I should add, that there’s a family room down the hall, with a huge sectional that does have enough room for everyone (and the tv). The living room, where the loveseat in question is, is really used most often when we have visitors, or are having family worship. It’s a place where we can sit and face the people we’re talking to, unlike the family room sectional, which faces the tv.

Do you have dining room or kitchen chairs or stools? When I have extra people over we just bring those in from the room next to it. My son uses in his room fold up stool for extra guests, you could use cushioned folding chairs then store away flat when not needed
@nattamused9074
@nattamused9074 2 ай бұрын
@@me4011 That’s the idea that I keep thinking about. Yes, the living room and dining room are wide open to each other, and bringing in a couple chairs is totally possible, and something we often do anyway, even with the loveseat. The loveseat is just very big and bulky for a piece that only seats two
