Yes. I bought an old archtop which had a guitar case loaded with silica gel sachets, and it was so dried out it was splitting at the f holes. It took months of lying open at 80 - 90% humidity for the cracks to close up enough to cleat the splits from inside the body.

Florida and Southeast Asia???? Sorry, but nothing in the world compare to the "South Atlantic Convergence" phenomena, where all the humidity from the Amazon Forest gets into a "Wind corridor" that leads all the way from the forest to one single spot before it reaches the Atlantic. And that spot is where Rio is located. So in the summer we reach 43°C with a 40-60% of humidity.

Real thing, forgot to load my guitar in the back of my van and left it on the ground (in a case) behind the van. Got distracted and got home and didn’t know where my guitar was. Got a sick feeling that I forgot it. Went back to the scene of the crime and luckily I had just nocked over the case backing up the van and had straddled it perfectly! I've salvaged the electronics out of 2 acoustics (not mine) that were ruined by poor storage. One they stepped on leaning against a chair and had neck break beyond repair. Other one got smashed by an old tube portable tv from a closet shelf - turned the body to toothpicks worse than the one run over in this video! Upside is I put the Alvarez electronics in my non-e Washburn acoustic for a Walvarezburn and the Fender electronics made it into one of my acoustic mandolins and works amazing!

If you watched the interview of Bernie Mardsen by Lee Anderton, you will see his famous guitar "The Beast". It's a 59 Les Paul with a kind of lemon burst finish. But the guitar began it's life with red paint. It faded over the years to that lovely color. So I decided to try and artificially age my Les Paul by storing it in direct sunlight. It's been almost a year now of about 5 hours of direct sunlight per day. It has changed about 10 shades since then. So I decided to just put it under UV plant lights 24/7. It's slowly becoming lemon burst. It just takes forever! I am making a video of the progress. I will post it when I get there.

Learned my lesson about 27 years ago. I leaned my Jackson Rhoads V against my Marshall. My 3 year old son went downstairs messed with my guitar. It fell over and broke the head across the top tuning key. Glued it back on, and could barely tell the head had gotten broke. Luckily I never had trouble tuning problems. Traded it off years later.

5:05 - I know you got that clapped out guitar specifically to abuse, but it still pained me to see it crushed like that. BTW, Martin has a chipper on its factory floor. Any guitar that has a flaw that can’t be fixed gets disintegrated. No factory second Martins.

Since mostly young kids put stickers on their guitars, Let me tell you, it is perfectly fine to put stickers on your guitar. It's YOUR guitar. Don't listen to bullies.
