🐷 #10 - This Little Piggy • Fluid Art Pigments • Interference Paint VS Pigment 🐷

Today Shelee is comparing interference violet paint to This Little Piggy pigment powder. She is demonstrating using Amsterdam Interference Violet and This Little Piggy Sequins.
While we absolutely love using Amsterdam paints in our artwork, there is a clear difference between the interference colour from the tube and the TLP powder.
The tube paint seems more transparent, does not have the same depth of colour or reflectivity, and the cells don't hold up as well when done with the Sheleeart bloom technique.
The TLP Sequins pigment make a more solid semi-transparent layer, has a more saturated colour and higher reflectivity, and holds up the cells much better in this instance.

These are beautiful. The pearl violet will shine and show much more after it dries/cures for about a week or two. Yes it keeps showing better and better even after the piece seems dry.

Ok, so this isn’t a fair comparison unless you show the dry results as the pearls and Piggy’s really show their colors after they dry…as you know. Love the Amsterdam Pearls, and especially the Golden interference colors. And of course the Piggy’s hold a special place in my heart, they are the best. Thank you for this Shelee, never saw it over the last 2 year, late to the party I guess. And thank you TLP

well you sure did do just that i love the tube paints she uses with the piggies n how i know this is i went to atelier and bought the free flows and the tube paints on the fluid art site lol and i got the aussie floetrol too lol and i bought all of the piggies plus some 30 or so extras lol and now two each of the newest additions to the piggies family of pigments and i love that name for them it fits perfectly and cleverly together i think shelee is a legend at both art and her pigment empire . that maraschino omg i cant wait to get them in and the aphrodite all of them i seen a cpl used and omgomg !!!!!!!! i love them . so thankyou shelee my piggies should be coming soon i ordered them jan16th as soon as i woke up from bed i jumped on my laptop and night before they were there just not on the list and i jumped up like christmas morning i swear i did and bought doubles of all them and more gold bling of course and ballgown because she been using in several videos lately ive watched . you see my hubby bought me a newer laptop which is very nice for christmas and gave it to me early so on the eve of christmas i had to start rewatching all my artists and videos all over again from scratch again . so i been busy watching all them and subscribing again on my new computer to all my favorites and i can say she was on top of my list and karen from waterfall acrylics too and many more but back to shelee yes she is amazing and i learn so much in a week or two i will be taking her class and i am very excited to take it and learn all i can from the legend of blooms . she is a big inspiration to me and many others too all who i hear talk of her and the course have been 100% upbeat about the class and say there is so much to learn about the science behind the technique and rain n pours ive watched several by him to and he says same too and all say take the course to learn it , the real way to learn it is to start at the beginning and work my way up and shelee has inspired me to do just that and the other artists too . i cant wait to learn it from the best of the best and the creator of all of it . i am in awe of her artwork there all so beautiful and she has opened my eyes on trying the better paints and if you seen my art room its full of unopened boxes of all i have to open to enjoy and soon i will when my new piggies arrive and my course has been taken soon i will be the happiest person in the world . gooo shelee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't tell what was what, to list all the colors at once is confusing and seems like the dried results would have been better than the wet. They were both pretty but you got rid of the best parts in my opinion and the interference colors were hardly noticeable.

Hi Lisa! The colours are always listed in the order that they are placed onto the canvas, or in this case placed onto the swipe tool as well. The interference colours are the white looking ones that change colour when applied to the canvas, in this case both were interference pink. Hope that helps!

@@thislittlepiggy3349 awww... hey I meant no disrespect, but I will say I went looking for a more in depth "showing" of these pigments and wasn't able to find anything that covered the product itself, each color, and what it looks like when mixed (though the site says they look like the cup they come in, interference colors don't) so my disappointment in not finding a video like that likely dribbled over here on this video. Sorry about that... I'm really trying not to comment when I'm in a frustrated mood... forgive me if I offended in any way. And thank you for your response... smiles and blessings...

yes, you could do that. There are no limits to art. You would want to disperse the piggy's in a gloss varnish first such as Josonja gloss varnish and then add your paint and pouring medium

I haven't yet seen Amsterdam Interference colours, we only have their regular series in Israel, though have Golden Interference, and didn't know how to use them. Can an interference paint be used with TLP's or it's just not necessary?

You can if you like but interference colours can quickly blend together and ruin their effect, so try to stick to one or two in a pour unless doing the Beetle's Back style of pour.
