I hope people understand how valuable this info is that you are giving in your videos. I am wondering if you’d do any on what excercises we can to do for pain issues. My shoulders are very over built and hurt from using the 70-200L so much. Also my knees get sore from getting very low. Have you experienced this and what exercises might you do? Thank you! I am getting old but still I think these might be common issues 😅

Hi there Jess and team. I have a Nikon D500 and a 70-300 f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED, do you think it can get the job done? Gear is so expensive, even second-hand gear, so I got a 50 mm 1.8 manual lens, I guess it's the one they call "pancake", nice lens but a pain in the neck for getting tack sharp pics. Thanks for your vids Jess, you're the best.

Hi! Gotta say, I was not inclined to sub & bell until 10:00. The tips were worthwhile but sooo dry. But then you accidentally bumped the Nikon and some personality spilled out. Saw some more at 13:00 when you begged viewers to learn a little editing. Those 2 timestamps were your best, no ranting/raving, just a little personality. Okay, I took a chance and subbed and belled. Don't make me regret it. 😁 Best tip for me IMHO? Treat the dog as a model and "pay" them: Give them the darn treat after teasing them with it. Love it!

Hey Jer I’m getting slowly a little more comfortable with being on camera but I really don’t like being on this side of the lens! I hope my more recent videos are a bit more relaxed and a bit less dry 🙏

You have no idea how much of a treasure chest those videos of yours are to me. :) My experience and my "toys" are all centred around land-/seascape and environmental stills. But for some reason, my friends and family are starting to ask me to shoot their pets. And thus far I asked them to hire a professional in return. So I had to learn that a lot of local professional photographers either have full books or have quit their businesses over the last year. Shouldn't be surprised about that. :( Yeah, so I promised that I will look into pet photography and learn a few skills to get at least some pics out that are decent enough to be shown in public.

Hi. I really love your way to explain and to edit your pictures. I love photography and have two (small) dogs i love to photograph. I try to edit my pictures as good as i can but i'm dreaming of an editing like you do. It's just so beautiful. I know you have to have the picture you want to get already in your mind before editing but you have something magical you put in yours. I will try to post some pictures of my dogs before and after editing and would like to know what you should do with it to get that level you make. Sorry for my English but i'm from belgium and normally speak French and Dutch. Thank you very much for what you do and just keep doing it like this.

Hello! Yesterday I got a new camera, and it is a Nikon D3100. I take pictures of dogs too, and do you think that is a good one for beginning? I am very exited to try it out. It has a lens of 18-55 mm. I love doing portraits, is that a good lens for portrait? I love watching your videos!!!
@ThatPhotographySpot4 жыл бұрын
Hi Bebe, this is a good beginner camera yes! The lens won't be so brilliant, but it's goot to practice with. A great lens to get is a 50mm 1.8 which isn't super expensive but will make a massive difference for portraits. It doesn't zoom, but it's not expensive really and has such a lovely shallow depth of field. When you are 100% solid with a lens like a 50mm, you can look at more expensive options like a 70-200 2.8 or an 85 1.8 or a 105 1.8 🤓

Love your videos! Would be very grateful for a video where you show how to pick the right location 🙈
@ThatPhotographySpot4 жыл бұрын
Veronika locations are super dependant on your local surroundings but as a general rule, you need 3 things: foreground interest, subject interest and background interest. So an impressive mountain range behind, the dog stood on a rock with some cool rocks/grasses to the front would cover all 3. Similarly, a woodland scene behind, the subject in the middle-foreground and the forest floor to the foreground - does that make sense??
