Descriptions are in fact great...my tips on that is 1...details of product not details of its worth or how much it is new. Nobody cares. I personally copy and paste Amazon description into my local selling app and that’s it. 2. Don’t be lazy. Meaning don’t use google images or pictures from a store as your own. If you do feel the need to do that, make it you LAST picture. 3. This goes with the first tip...put details on an item and put a price you are comfortable with if a person offers less than asking. Don’t put $1 as your price, and in the description don’t write...looking for offers. Not only will you get a million offers that are no where near what you want for the item (which why write “make an offer” to begin with) you are going to get annoyed with horrible offers and like the video poster said, will make it that much harder to be nice. These platforms are full of people that will waste your time as a seller. I quit responding to “is it still available” messages and low-ball offers. Couldn’t be happier with the result. It might take a little longer for my stuff to move, but it eventually does and usually at the posted price. I agree that good pictures and accurate descriptions are key. I would add that being very clear about the terms of sale or even offers you are willing to accept is equally important to cutting unnecessary or wasteful communication. The other thing I do is offer a tight window for closing the deal. I don’t accept reschedules, and I won’t sell the item to someone who pulls a no-show but then tries to keep the dialogue going. This tactic really weeds out the gamers and casual lookers. I guess my tactics might make me appear a less friendly seller to some, but this approach has cut wasted time dramatically (which is good for the buyer, too) and improved my success rate.

Some tips on how to sell washers and dryers quickly is that's a price has to be right! What I mean is look at the other washer and dryers on the app and tried to undercut the price by at least $10. Then be very descriptive and detailed in your ad such as name brand and heavy capacity and only two years old. For sure if you have more time you can get a better price out of your washer and dryer!

You can also post things on multiple sites and the best place I think is Facebook. I don't use Facebook other than to sell my old stuff I'd rather not donate. There are even garage and yard sale groups specifically for your area too.

My tip. Repost about 8-10 items over and over till they sell 🤣 I sell jewelry and accessories on offerup all under $10 besides my wood burned signs and I do that and get 5-25 sells a day. That’s posting without a description or anything. Only a title and photo. I’m a 5 star seller. You’re welcome. Also I get most of my sales at night. Between 6pm-2am eastern time

Power Surge Money you’re very welcome. Not many think of doing that but it works. It also saves you from needing to pay for the promotion thing cause every time you repost it bumps to the top. If you have the time and patience to sit and do it, it’s worth it. I find it working better then the promote option also

Power Surge Money also one more tip. I find that I sell more on Friday’s and Sunday’s as well and around very end of the month and very beginning of the following month (when many get their check). I get more sells from the west coast and I’m 3hrs ahead of west coast so 6pm-2am is why those times are best for me. At those times it’s only 3pm-11pm for west coast

The most important thing is not to over priced your items. Just don't do ebay prices. Look for the lowest sold ebay price on the item then take about 20 percent or more off. That should be the highest price you'd post your item and it will sell fast.

I've learned that asking pointed and straightforward questions from the get go can help you weed out most scammers... And doing so saves you time, legwork, aggravation and money. Handle ALL transactions through Offer Up, no matter what BS excuse or sob story the seller gives you. Seems like alot of the buyers are resellers, and are always looking for a steal deal. And are only willing to drive for the item if they can get a great price on their purchase. So if you don't live around the block of the interested buyer, they're not driving across town for something they can get delivered for the same price. Conveniance is the new buyer approach. Maybe that is the same reason brick and mortar stores seem to be closing down like no other time in history.

I have never bought an item on offer up for the purpose of reselling it. Unless it was a huge profit margin to me it wouldn’t seem like it’s worth the time. However free furniture is always left astray around the end of the month when people move. I can totally see myself grabbing a couch and putting it up on offer up for 60 bucks for some free quick cash
