helpful, especially here in Florida USA hot/humid in summer months

Your advice was absolutely fantastic. I’m struggling with the heat at the moment in Australia as it’s mid 30’s so I’ll take on board what you have said and see how I go.👍 Thanks

How to train in heat, and the first advice was; evade the heat all together, go before it's hot 😂🤣
@andreas-linden3 жыл бұрын
Yep, still the best advice in my opinion! :D Heat isn't easy, and the training won't be optimal. But sometimes you have no choice.

Thank you for the advice; it is very good but also everyone should apply a generous amount of sunscreen for summer running.

Great tips. Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately I have to run in over 90 degree F all the summer because of where I live :(

Another proven cool down tip is to ingest an icy slurry (ice cubes and water blended) rather than just ice cold water. Seems to help cool your core temp faster. Thank you for your video, Andreas.

I run in Sicily. I try to finish by 6 or 6:30. It's too hot here.

Not a runner, but a calisthenics athlete, although these advices are pretty good. I've just finished a workout and it's 37°, I need to start working out in the morning or in the evening.

I'm trying to do the same too!

Yes, try to start as early is possible (or in the evening) to get as much as possible out from your training! Good luck!

I train in Arizona and start running at 4:00 am and the temperature is already 32 C. It makes it difficult to keep the heart rate down vs when it is cooler.

I have to run a 7 minute mile in about 2 months, right now I'm doing it in 10 minutes. I live in an area where the temperature at night is around 30 degree centigrade, whereas the temperature will probably be around 40 centigrade when I have to run a 7 minute mile for a physical exam. Should I train in warm clothes at night to acclimitize my body to the heat? Thank you.

Also wearing a wet headband or bandanna helps.

Im living in Miami for over 12 years now and its what Andreas is saying.... use water its the only way and I think the sun is killing you on hot days not the heat it self. Do you sport a lot? It’s important for some things in your body that may be helping you through the hottest months.

Do you run in that heat then? I’m a new runner struggling to progress in 80°F+ temps. I really don’t want to go inside and run on the treadmill. :(

I run 30+ degrees almost exclusively because I live in a tropical country. Marathons here usually start at 3am to avoid the heat of the day.

best advice to run in the heat: don’t run in the heat. it’s harmful especially if your cortisol is high already
@CrikeyWho2 жыл бұрын
I’ve got a better idea…Don’t go running. Stay home next to the air conditioner and drink beer with your friends. Make KZbin videos about your conversations the next day if you want.

Your first tip for “running in hot weather” is to avoid doing it (by running earlier)?? C’mon man....
@andreas-linden4 жыл бұрын
I'm talking about training during a heatwave, not just one session. And that tip might be obvious for you and me but due to my experience from coaching it's not obvious for everyone to plan the training day differently due to the heat. Especially not for someone living in an area where +30 degrees is uncommon.
