Great video 😁 I'm going to Amsterdam soon for 2 nights and one day, first time ever going somewhere alone with social anxiety it's not good! But I'm excited that I'm pushing my boundaries and proving to myself that I can do it, but I am so nervous I just want it to go smooth 😬 I know I'll have fun but I'll find it hard meeting people. Great tips tho your right I'd want to explore the city and surround rather than just smoke weed and get drunk.

Thank you for watching. That's so great to hear, good luck! That's it, Amsterdam is so full of awesome things to do that you'll be fine. I've only felt mildly anxious of being on my own there in the really central tourity part as I said so by all means go there but perhaps do a walking tour like I did to see the area properly and be in a group and then stick to the more local areas as they're even better to see anyway! :)

I loved that vlog!! I'll be staying at the StayOkay Hostel for a week in September. You're the first person that has also stayed there that I've seen. To me that's exciting! (doesn't take much) I'm also traveling solo & will be visiting the museums & trying to do many of those things you mentioned, plus Haarlem.

Love your video, thanks for sharing. I too love to travel alone and I love Amsterdam! I was first introduced to Delft and Amsterdam for a long weekend with my daughter and hooked. The following year i spent a week solo, staying near Vondelpark and absolutely loved it. I felt completely safe the entire time. Almost everyone speaks English so that really helps, little to no language barrier. I’m looking forward to my next solo visit this October, I rented a houseboat near the Anne Frank museum staying 10 days!! Ladies or gentleman get out there, it feels wonderful to solo travel.

Hi there! Nice to see you enjoy Amsterdam so much. But as a Dutchman, I can really recommend a city trip to Rotterdam as well! If you like a city of modern architecture too, however. It's very different from Amsterdam and less touristic, but it has the largest port of Europe, the city has a lot to offer, for example in the maritime area. Also, the city is very fine for travelling solo. Besides that, there are multiple other smaller towns in the Greater Rotterdam area, for example Schiedam, which is a historic city with canals and the tallest windmills of the world which can be visited (some of those). Rotterdam is less than half an hour away from the airport of Amsterdam, but you could also take the ferry (day or night sailing) from Harwich to Hoek van Holland, which is real fun!

I absolutely go to Amsterdam to get high. But defenitly not only to get high. I really enjoy coffeeshops and how unique and quirky most of them are. But I also love the architecture, the art that is hidden everywhere, the many great (and I mean greeeaaat!!!) museums, the free ferry over to northern Amsterdam, which always acts as a bit of a 'gateway from the madness' when getting over to where my go to camping spot (Vliegenbos, seriously great, 11€ per night with a great clean sanitary complex, free phone charging and a great terrace with a fireplace to meet new people and an outdoor kitchen free tu use, that is hard to beat!) is, as it is next to a little forrest and really seems like a village rather than a huge city. SO awesome, my favorite city. And as it is only 200 Km away from my home, I can go there even for a daytrip.

If you really want to see the beauty of the Netherlands then skip Amsterdam and visit the Hanseatic towns in the east, like Zutphen, Deventer, Zwolle and Kampen. Smaller, quieter, cheaper, older and friendlier than Amsterdam.

One of the best places to travel solo Male or Female. For Men, fun as can be. For Women also fun, and safe, as Dutch Men are quite chill about not sexualizing every encounter. American Men, well, you know it's the opposite.
@Paul_C5 жыл бұрын
At 4.40 Red=Dead, sidewalk is the grey bit. That is the absolute FIRST thing you need to be aware of. Most of the Dutch use bicycles as main transport mode for short distances, and they really have no patience with tourists. And sorry to say this, but they are right. You wouldn't cross second avenue without looking, would you?
@TheWanderingQuinn5 жыл бұрын

Did you notice any other Hostels that you would recommend for the Solo Female traveler..?? Also, How far was your hostel from the center..??
@TheWanderingQuinn5 жыл бұрын
There are so many hostels in Amsterdam. This hostel in Vondelpark was in the centre, its just not near central station but I think thats too central as its the really busy touristic area with all the bars etc. This hostel is about 10 minutes from the main shopping street :)
