I was more coming from the perspective of someone who doesn't listen to much metalcore. Like I play mostly thrash and melodic death and doom. But my playing has a lot of those "at the gates riffs" that metalcore adapted . My main issue with metalcore is relationship/petty me style lyrics. But then again there are bands that have decent themes and topics. Like everywhere else I guess

All I can hope for at this point is that a bunch of twelve year old beginning guitarists learn of the brilliance of God Forbid, Chimaira, and Himsa. The one band you missed out on though is the mighty Shadows Fall. Hopefully one day people will remember how crucial they were to pioneering this style.

2:20 Hearts Burst Into Fire and 1:09 strength of the mind! Finally, a video of riffs that includes BFMV and KSE and have some different riffs other than always having ‘Tears don’t fall’ and ‘My curse’ or any other songs that get played ALL the time. I don’t have anything against any of those songs from both bands, it’s just nice to see a bit of variety with the choice of riffs and feels refreshing.

I know you can't include everything but August Burns Red have a huge number of amazing riffs beyond Composure. Also, in Composure, you missed a pretty important note in the second section. It goes C000.G7-8-7-0.C0.G5-5-5-5-0. So there's a pull off after 7-8-7 on the G string. Some other great Drop C riffs are from The Human Abstract, Crown The Empire, Black Veil Brides and Wintersun. Oh man, God Forbid brings me back. Crazy story, they have the best live sound of any band I've ever heard. I don't know if it's just their gear or their sound guy or what, but they have a flawless live sound. Way back in 2005 I was lucky enough to play main stage at an outdoor festival right before God Forbid. We finished our set, did our teardown then sparked up a fat joint waiting for God Forbid. I went and stood right by one of the PA speakers and holy shit they sounded so fucking good.
