They had a standoff who would first give up or ran out of stamina. 88 Days of having “fun” together before molag was subdued by vivec. Well if you cant kill each other bc you are both immortal then you better find “other” ways to prove dominance.

With the comparison made about the Tzmisce, in Vampire the Masquerade lore, he is a Tzmisce. He is an elder of the clan and can perform some truly horrific feats. Much, much worse than being made into furniture. Also, when the Tzmisce do make the person into furniture they make sure the person is in excruciating agony. They make sure that their victims won’t die.

I read a pretty interesting Dragon Age theory that the reason everyone seems surprised by a female Grey Warden in Dragon Age: Origins if you play as a female character is because the Grey Wardens know about the Broodmothers and rarely recruit women as a result.

The funny thing is that a sidequest, or the DLC I can't quite remember which in Origins proves they *didn't* know what's up with them. But when the player finds out how broodmother are made the whole "pilgrimage to die in the deeproads" thing is made optional for female members... for obvious reasons. So after that point it'd make sense to stop recruiting women... yet later games have *more* female gray wardens. Which is like... why?

In the Suffering for the PS2, there is a scene in the insane asylum level where you come across a Correcional Officer in one of the rooms who has had all four of his limbs removed but is still alive. Instead, he just flops around like a fish out of water. It's the only time in the game where you get the option to kill someone or not and killing him contributes to the "good" ending.

You know, as if being turned into a horrid monster wasn't enough they also had to add sexual violence as a last piece of trauma.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned the human reaper from the mass effect games. People were being kidnapped to be melted down into living metal to make a new reaper construct. Not only do you go through that process, but a reaper is basically a collective hive mind so who you are as an individual will be slowly overwritten. Fun times.

Ian, Turning into a Tree was done well before Fallout 3 though! Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past had so many people turning into sentient trees in the Dark World. It was both very sad and somewhat horrifying, since that was a game for kids 😅

Harold has a horrible fate that's not without a doubt, but the Vault Dwellers of 112 have a much much more horrific fate as being trapped in a simulation at the complete mercy of a psychopathic mad scientist who gleefully kills them over and over again, but barring one of them no one even knows they are in their horrible fate that's just horrid.

4:35 Well, the Absolutely Safe Capsule DOES keep the wearer absolutely safe...BUT it DOESN'T come with the addition of the user not aging. If pretty much anyone else had used that capsule, or if Pokey had used it on pretty much anyone else, then they would have stayed "absolutely safe" in there until they died from hunger, thirst, or old age. However, what makes Pokey's fate particularly terrifying is that HE'S immortal, in every sense of the word. After the first game (Earthbound), Pokey traveled through time so much that it changed him and his body's functionality effectively froze, save for his brain and consciousness. So Pokey didn't need to sleep, eat, or drink anymore - however he couldn't also use his body either. But by then he had already amassed an empire and plenty of servants to serve his needs, so he didn't really need his body anymore and so he was able to continue his reign of terror through time and space, even when he was lying completely still on a bed as though he was a corpse. So when his battle bed fails him during the final battle and Pokey desperately summons the Absolutely Safe Capsule, he seals his fate for remaining "absolutely safe" until the end of the universe...and possibly even beyond. In an interview with Shigesato Itoi, he was asked what would befall Pokey when the universe ended, when all the stars went out in the universe and the last planet ceased to exist, and he confirmed that even then Pokey would remain "absolutely safe".

Broodmothers arent just human women. They do the same thing to women of all species. The 4 standard species of Darkspawn come from the 4 standsrd species of Thedas. Genlocks are Dwarves(the Broodmother in Origins was a dwarf originally), Hurlocks are Humans, Shrieks are Elves, and Ogres are Qunari.

Molag Bal, before Skyrim and for obvious reasons, was straight up known as the King of Rape. He also created vampires by turning a priestess of Arkay into the original blood matron, as for how he did that, it's all in the aforementioned title. Same goes for Valerica and Serana, of course.

So, Broodmothers are made infinitely worse if you listen to every detail of Hespith's rhyme in Origins. Particularly when you get to the lines, "Seventh day, she grew as in her mouth they spew" and "Eight day, we hated as she is violated". They're not just being forced to eat the flesh of Darkspawn, and later their own kin ("Ninth day, she grins and devours her kin'") - They are being raped, often and by many Darkspawn, likely in a constant train.

Mass Effect 2: Sleeping with Morinth. At the point in the game this option becomes available, you already know she's an Ardat Yakshi, the Asari version of a vampire, feeing off the life energy of creatures she sleeps/mind melds with. You might think Shepard might be resistant to the effect on account of being half machine on the inside. Think again! Tomb Raider: Stepping on the Hand of Midas. You might know the Greek myth of Midas, a king who wished for everything he touched to turn to gold. His wish was granted by the gods - to a fault, as he could no longer eat, or even touch his loved ones. This power was inherited to the giant stone statue of Midas in Tomb Raider, and indeed Lara needed to use said power to turn lead bars into gold to proceed, but woe to her if she climbed onto the hand. She would be turned, feet first, into a statue of gold.

In octopath traveler 2 theres a scared little boy in a cliff town with a sTuFF tOy you can't buy or steal. Turns out the boy made a deal with a demon that'll zap his soul in exchange for courage. If you wait outside the town at night til morning you'll see the boy now possessed walk to the edge of the cliff. You can inquire the toy and fight a hidden enemy possessing the boy but you never cure the boy of his demon.

Either he stays stuck underground slowly losing himself and knowing Nina will suffocate; Or he sacrifices his humanity to ensure she gets to the surface and survives but dooms himself to a fate worse than death.

Mana series actually had the turned into a tree...unfortunately not for eternity as its destroyed a couples times. My vote is tower of druaga from Namco. The princess is turned into a stone...not turned to stone Medusa style, but a regular rock. Backup would be Bushi Seiryuuden, where the girl becomes this tiny cute floating furball. Worse is the hero uses her as the game mechanics jump where she is force to hold on to a heavy armed human for a short length in mid-air.

The first vampire was a woman who drew bals ire so he raped her with a barbed penis the size of a cactus and then when she was found dead the village buried her only for her to rise a few days later as a blood starved vampire who killed the entire village including her husband and children. Now fast forward to Skyrim and note the collier women Serena and her mother also echo this tale of how they became vampires, though are naturally vague about specifics.
