10+ Types of Gold Making 💰

To clear up confusion, this is a video that covers TYPES of gold making not SPECIFIC ways. It's just to help new folks understand some categories that exist and to give you some ideas. Some examples: boes and 2x4/group farming (which I've even mentioned specifically) would fall under the raw gold, gathering, and collectables types. Paragon caches are raw gold. Doing any daily CDs or specific profession items will likely fall under crafting or shuffling.

When the content is "fresh", my main source of income is almost always running Call to Arms dungeons as a tank and then selling the runes and enchants / materials from items dropping in those dungeons (on top of the ~1k you get from the bag per run) . When the content is old, and the prices go down I mostly just run some old raids for raw gold. Not the optimal methods, but I find mindless farming actually pretty relaxing, while playing on the auction house (was trying this in Cata and MoP) actually required more input from me (according to me) than just doing a dungeon or old raid. Got 10m in WoD, 5 in Legion, and currently 8m total in BFA so I guess it works for me.

I also throw in a check of the BMAH during my daily gold-making routine. Recently scored a Firefly pet for 1k gold and sold it for 19k. Thanks for another awesome video.

Yea I have done that a couple times now with the giant sewer rat... For some reason that mini pet sells for like 10k-30k on my server..? I think the couple times I snagged it off the BMAH I spent like 4k for it, so pretty good.

This is a great video! I already know a lot of these methods from watching Kraken and others, but I like this as a good and detailed intro to gold farming that includes a list of good definitions, so people that are newer to videos like these can use the definitions and pick methods that seem to work best for their server at a given time. Very valuable and concise information

I had a break from the start of BFA until 2 months ago. I stood at 1.8m gold at the time and I decided to use flipping to get my Brutosaur. Long story short, I didnt know Blizz intended to make corruptions purchaseable and so a couple 475 BoEs that I bought for about 800k each (which was lower than the AH average by almost 400k in my server) never sold and ended up being worth less than 90k each for some reason. I blew it all up. I lost hope. Until I saw your raw gold videos and decided to dedicate myself for the next few months and so I've been using all my max lvl toons (8 of them currently) and been steadily making 400k per week. Now I'm at 3m gold and I keep going!

For Horde players, consider putting a Counterfeit Rastakhan Mask on the AH as a convenience item. It's the end point of a vendor chain that you can start for 9 gold and can be used to buy the toy Zandalari Effigy Amulet.

A major one missed I believe are needed roles in LFG/LFR for satchels of cooperation, as well as the first daily or weekly clear of the LFG/LFR list. As well as the paragon caches granting 3000-5000g for continuing to grind rep especially in BFA. What about quests, daily quests, world quests, and trivial quests (Loremaster) at max level? Battle pet leveling/upgrading and selling at 25 too. WoW TCG collectibles also can be included if you're being comprehensive as a lot isn't covered in the BMAH. Also rogue's Draenor pickpocketing 5000g weekly or Card of Omens specific crafting as lotteries are not allowed in ToS at least in Trade Chat or maybe in guilds too. Selling portals or flying taxis too might fit under carries, as well as invites to scouted rare BoP mounts or portals, and puzzles to also be included in carries. Another minor two ways are maybe is buying a WoW token for your service to not end and buying it at it's peak to sell it and then buying a Token off the AH when it's low and keeping the 2000-4000g extra for the $5 extra monthly sub. Or garrison multiboxing for the raid items and gear etc as well as the materials for crafting and vendoring off multiboxed efforts. Also some rare and obscure events would be WoW Classic or older expansions featuring dancing or whispers for tips on RP servers or in general, guild charter signatures and server abandonment giveaways or player abandonment giveaways where I have received 30,000g from players abandoning the server or the game, or a rare solo guild stash'er giving 1000g for a signature to open their personal guild bank. I have also seen streamers get gold donations from viewers on Twitch as part of the giving back to the streamer to achieve a purchase or out of generosity. Also minor but guild group dungeons, raids, PVP generating raw gold into the guild bank. Or extremely rare, the selling of a parked name on a server. I sold the name "Sleep" during the PVP days of WotLK to another player for several thousand gold so he could make a rogue and duel and have the text "[Player] was defeated by Sleep"

A lot of that would fit under raw gold, collectables, or services with the exception of LFG stuff since that one's fairly niche.

Super video as always. Your 3rd category ..Collectibles. . I would add a few specifics: people often sell mount runs/rare hunter pet tames/ max level battlepets.. all 3 are convenience and time savers for players ..all are tied to collection building. I sell max level pets on multiple realms then move the gold back to my main realm when I have a lot. The 200k+ pets like Papi and the Soul Trader are great for moving your gold back to your 'home' realm- pets are account-wide. Leveling widely needed pets earns you 60k per hour minimum..and over 100k per hour during the pet event..but it requires a steady supply of the most popular pets/ polished charms/safari hat and pet xp buff biscuits.

Raw gold farming and 2x4 farming are my niches. I Especially love chilling out putting on twitch/youtube and going on my brewmaster and just 2x4 farming for hours and hours. Easy passive money.

Did ~three months of wod raids and the atal'dazar leather farm on a metric asston (14) of alts and now that it's over I'm not sure what to do with all this free time I have :D Maybe I'll just cut back a bit and keep doing enough to buy a token or two every month, shouldn't be too hard...

Still make as much as you can before then as having a war chest if gold to get on the front foot of wn expansion is a very smart plan, or find something else to use it on (WoW tokens for example)

for flipping, I suggest using the TSM sniper function. it is a lot less riskier than the other method

This function is currently disabled atm as Blizzard believes it to be harmful. I imagine it'll be reactivated eventually, but that's why I didn't suggest it in the video.

Made some gold by cheating the multiboxers leather farming operations in drustvar. Simply standing still under 5-8 druids skinning & tagging mobs that I loot & skin whenever, not practicle but it causes multiboxers to leave lmao 13k an hour for being a nuisance.

Haha, yes...I have a guildie who's constantly griping about how much transmog costs are, come to find out s/he's changing mog at LEAST once a day, sometimes 2-3 times. What?! Maybe I'm at the other extreme, but I change my alts' mog maybe once every few months, if that. xD

Did you forget trash/BoE farming in current raid or do you just not beleive that is a worth doing type of farming? So far I made the most gold by selling BoE I got in raid which is like 300k gold in total . because I hate other types of farms.. so boring..

Yep you are right... although i do encounter the occasional bot. For me personally all i really do now to make gold is the Atal'Dazar skinning. And the gorilla spot skinning.
