I think sometimes it depends on who the co-stars are. The Eternal love 1 2 & 3, with Xing Zhao Lin and Laing Jie, had so much kissing, and not just the “fish style”, but so passionate you’ll feel you are intruding on two lovers. Their chemistry was through the roof. Even in You are my Destiny, with both of them, their chemistry sizzles. But in Cute Programmer where Xing Zhao Lin pairs up with Xhu Zu Dan, the kisses were not so. Another great pairing is Luo Lunxi and Bai Lu. In Till the end of the moon, and Love is Sweet, their chemistry was electrifying and their passion could create another Big Bang! In And the Winner is Love, with Yukee Chen, there was no chemistry whatsoever, and I was even hoping they would not stay together to the end…There are also some actors who just don’t do kissing scenes, like Arthur Chen. One and Only, Forever and Ever, with the beautiful Bai Lu. He was MIA! On the other hand, bl dramas, especially from Thailand, do not hold back. The acting may stink (many times😅) but the kissing is always 100%

True, it does depend on the costar and if they also put the effort into making the kiss sexy/steamy/realistic. Teenagers and adults do feel passion if they at least like the person. It does not matter if they have never dated before, it is instinctive to want to passionately kiss someone you like. We don't need to see tongues but kiss back realistically.
