I still remember in Legion when I discovered that there is a core hound in the Draenei starting zone. Having bloodlust that early was amazing.

DERP except Core hounds don't use bloodlust. They have Ancient Hysteria, which you still couldn't use. Core hounds were made tamable and Ancient Hysteria was added in cataclysm. At the time, Ancient Hysteria was locked behind talent points which you needed to level in order to get, making it impossible to have access to the ability at lv 12. Even now with the level and talent restrictions gone... the ability is locked till you hit 65. I played my hunter in Legion.

getting fenryr in legion was so satisfying. after i got them they were the only pet i used outside of using a pet to fill a role in raid, and hati combod well with it

There is also a really cool looking Ghost boar in Razor Fen Kraul. It is near the bat boss just go to where there is a skull on the map indicating there used to be a boss there long ago.

Very old hunter accounts may even have a Worgen pet since there was a small window when the Duskwood worgen were tamable before Blizz changed it, but they did not remove any pets already tamed.

Perhaps you could use the toy Soft Foam Bat to knock down the health of low level creatures before taming. Works good for trival quest objectives that require subduing the npc vs outright killing them.

05/13/19, molten front rares seem to have disappeared (karkin, skarr and the spiders). Opened a ticket and a GM told me that it was a «known issue» and the best way to fix it would be to use the submit bug function in game.

There’s a glyph you can get that makes your direbeast a random pet from your stable! I got mine off the auction house, I love seeing who comes out and being like “oh Gnollfeaster came out this time!”

used to have to unlock that zone through questing due to phasing to even find terrorpene, and the other rares there. i'm glad they fixed the crab finally after some bright artist turned it blue when bfa launched. made me so mad i forgot i had the crab shank toy.

So glad they reverted it. Now Karkin is the only crab that still uses the old model.

There's actually a whole pride of realistic looking lions available in Uldum now, over nearish to the Halls of Origination. Saw them while doing the Amkahet event. So the rare in the Twilight highlands apparently isn't the only source for this hunter tame anymore. Also Fenryr has runes on his shoulders that only light up while in combat or when he's moving.

@@Syiler What do you mean thankfully? If that is true than Sambas remains the sole source for the tame and he is impossible to get just as any other rare spawn since crossrealm mergers. I haven't seen a single rare since the mergers. Only large groups of people camping sites in hopes of killing the rare rather than letting someone else get what they covet.

I now only collect hunter pets that have odd unique names that you can not just type in, and they must keep that name after being tamed. Oddly, I have almost a full inventory of them. Thank you for the video, rarely find good ones anymore.

IIRC the lowland mana shell is also in the area where the maze Kirin tor WQ is. And they are always up. And there are many of them.

There may be a turtle that looks like the Lowland Mana shell there not sure but that area shown in the video is the only place to get the Lowland Mana shell which is the only tamable one currently.

Right. And I’m saying I tamed my lowland mana shell in a spot where they were plentiful. And maybe I’m misremembering wheee they were, I know there were a lot of them in the location where I tamed them. Cause I remember searching the area where the video said to look but never found one. And then one day I was in a different area and I saw a bunch of them and tamed one

The map shown in the video is taken directly from WoWhead, there isn't another area that the Lowland Manashell spawns in unfortunately. If there was a few up in that area you just got lucky as its a rare respawn of the standard turtles in the area.

My hunter is my 3rd alt soo I haven’t spent that much time looking into pets past the giant turtles. Honestly didn’t know they had different abilities. Thought it was just tank or dps pet that’s it.

I had "Humar the pridelord" in vanilla, its a black lion found in the barrens, but its model isn't unique anymore since there is a lion in Sholzar basin that has the same model and is up constantly, its a bit sad. I quite liked that one.

During Cata i spent a few days getting all the spiders from that daily zone..........needed help with the kiting issues etc but was great fun........................then in MoP they had that hidden cave full of all the spiders that were easier to catch.........dammit I was probably the only decent bm in my old guild and finding obscure pets made me stand out I named all my pets after Transformers (G1 mostly)

@@Syiler The only rare spawn Molten Front spider that still has a unique color is Deth'tilac, the purple one. The red. yellow, and green ones have always had generic named spawns throughout the area. Solix, the orange one, used to also be a unique color during Cataclysm but the Mists of Pandaria expansion added red, yellow, green, and orange molten spiders in the Valley of the Winds.

Most pets you still can but there isn't much of a threat of dying to it, generally only used on pets that are dangerous tames that aren't immune to traps.

I only just found out we could have Holoun as a pet I was like that looks so cool. So off I went to lvl a bit got to 45. Got my tome to tame serpents. And was like let's go. I had a warrior pull up every hour for like 10 hours. On the first day of trying at 3am I got him was like no way... Then I was like what is the chances of getting Nalak. Headed over to him and bam, he was up got the tame in front of someone AFK. If I get the Sha mount I'm set for wow life lol.

It doesnt quite fit the theme of the video unfortunately, all the pets shown here don't have a recolour version of the same model while Deth'tilac has a range of similar molten spiders in a range of colours.

It's currently classified as an Aberration which wouldnt be tamable, the other problem is it is currently higher level than players are so even if it was or becomes a beast type in the future we would need to wait until next expansion to tame it!

Other than the turtles all those pets suck. The crab not so bad but still. And yeah, it's an opinion, don't feel some type of way if you like those pets. Now, I haven't played in a long time, but for my wolf pet I had or have a wolf that I go that has a shadow effect on it. Meaning that it looks like it's a damn shadow priest. It looks this way because of a buff on it, some type of "oil". I'll leave it up to you guys to figure out the rest and how to tame it.

Unfortunately the oil wolf from Borean Tundra got fixed a long time ago, with a lot of the bugged pets. Very few remain today, there are a couple of bugged pigmy pets to grab unless they were fixed in 8.2.5
