Nice stuff. That "equal spacer" could use a wingnut on a small bolt to lock it in place to keep going without error. Thanks for the link!

In #2, how do you change the blade, if it's all glued ?
@jasond98243 жыл бұрын
It appears to lock in the blade out position, but not lock in the safe to carry position. What a stupid overall design flaw
@chrisnupp70973 жыл бұрын
@@jasond9824 I printed one, it locks it into both positions.
@chrisnupp70973 жыл бұрын
It's not supposed to be glued in place. There's a tab by the blade divots (where the blade locks in place) that you can push out of the way to remove the blade and replace it.

For the tire tread depth gauge and the bolt&nut sorter you can color the legends a little easier if you switch filaments to black (or other contrasting color) for the last couple layers. That'll save the marker issues that I always have of the ink running down and bleeding across the face of the part. The issue with the marker on the square is probably because the markings were debossed (sunken into the surface) instead of embossed (sticking out of the surface) like the tread depth gauge and bolt&nut sorter. But, since that was printed with the markings on a vertical surface, the color changing trick would be a major pain even on a printer that has decent M600 support.

On your recessed groves,(like the carpenters square) you should try a wax crayon 🖍 instead of a sharpie. It works great. You can rub off any excess with a paper towel for clean marks.

There isn't Harbor Freight everywhere and the prices are also different. Yes some of the things last longer when not 3D printed, but it depends how much you use them. Also some of the things you can print 2 or 3 and still cheaper than to by one.
