So, why is the i at the end of yaxshi pronounced like ‘uh’, but at the end of mazali is ‘ee’? It seems like Uzbek has the same two vowels as Turkish i with a dot and i without a dot (which my keyboard won’t do), but there is only one letter representing both. What is the rule for when to pronounce it in which way?
@bakhriddinkuchkorov9161 Жыл бұрын
Few words have special pronouncation of letter 'i' like 'yaxshi' and 'mazali' in conversation which is related to all Turkic languages but there's not special rules of them. Anyway if you pronounce it longer or shorter everybody can understand and no any misunderstanding 😀
@aqlli_yechimlar Жыл бұрын
That's correct. We have i and ı like Turkish. But government doesn't wanna add it to the language, it thinks it may complicate the people.

@bachirameguru-pj2bv Жыл бұрын
Almost everybody in uzbekistan know russian so I would say go ahead and learn russian. I say this because there are some uzbek accents that are pretty difficult to understand if you are a beginner. I myself was born in uzbekistan but I grew up in the united states and i know enough uzbek to get around but those accents are still difficult for me to understand but learning some words in uzbek would also be very appreciated by the uzbek people. Hope this helps!
