Putin will never be held accountable. 1st because there is no real evidence of war crimes (yet at least, because there's nothing proven in international courts. No not even Bucha). 2nd because the only 1 who could really push for it is the US. And US won't do it you know why?! Because Obama and Bush are some of the worst war criminals in recent years. So US doesn't have the moral ground unless they trial their own presidents(which of course they will not). That's why Russia invaded Ukraine. Because US/NATO did the exact the same thing to Serbia in Kosovo. They even used the same articles from UN to justify the war. And of course it was rejected. As it was in the Kosovo case. US didn't care, and Russia didn't care either. And in the case of this invasion Russia spent 8 years building up a casus belli, that was way way more solid than what US/NATO used in Serbia.

I'm not really for the death penalty because mistakes do get made occasionally and to be honest it's probably a worse punishment to be in jail forever, but sometimes it's in the interests of the victims to just say fuck this guy and be done with him when he/she is so blatantly and unequivocally guilty of something heinous. I know it sounds quixotic, but it would genuinely be better for the people healing who have suffered from the crime to know the perpetrator no longer exists. Those are my thoughts, anyway.

In 1944 George W. Bush Sr went on a mission over Chichi Jima in which he was 1 of 9 pilots to survive the mission. The 8 who were captured were eaten. Hideki Tojo was executed for his war crime. That should be number 1
