I consider myself lucky because I can drink a whole cup of coffee and fall asleep afterwards. I have never consumed decaffeinated coffee, ever. My wife has a sleeping disorder and suffers from one of its side effects, taking advice. Hopefully I can get her to watch your videos.

Working on scripture memorization to help fall asleep is genius!

I often drink herbal tea such as chamomile or lemon balm at night or a sleepy time tea with valerian in it. When laying awake I will listen to a yoga nidra or sleep meditation and I don’t usually make it to the end. Also temperature has a huge effect on sleep.

I love that you memorized the book of Mark. I am thinking of doing that with John 1. Thanks for the inspiration. Lord bless you!

I pray and tell God all the things I am thankful for. That usually helps me get to sleep.

Greetings! Thank you for yet another powerful and informative message. I listen to nature sounds and use essential oils such as lavender in my diffuser to help me fall asleep. Also, I sometimes listen to bible verses to help me fall asleep as well. God bless your ministry, as you choose to use your platform to give others hope, to educate and give encouragement. Stay blessed!

I read a devotional to divert my mind, to help me stop thinking so I can fall asleep. Mostly I listen to sermons. My fav is Amazing Facts, Doug Bachelor. Halfway through his talks I already fall asleep. 😅😊👍

Paradoxical intent. I lay down and try to not fall asleep. It knocks me out every time.

Wow, for some that is a great idea. Thanks for the suggestion.

An additional method for dealing with blue light is using programs like Iris or f.lux (PC and probably Mac), or Twilight (Android, possibly also iPhone) to reduce the blue light on computer and phone screens. This won't deal with everything, but it will resolve the main sources of blue light. Of course, exercising good ol' self-discipline in not using devices during the last hour or two before bed is always wise. I'm glad I have Twilight on my phone, though, as my phone is my clock, so I need to look at it occasionally before bed. Good tip for those who wear regular glasses anyway: it is possible, depending on the material your lenses are made of, to add a blue light-blocking coating that is almost clear and does not actually alter how the world looks, so you don't have to worry about everything turning orange or looking weird if you have guests. :) All that happens is that, if someone looks at your glasses from the right angle, they look a little green. My husband has glasses like this. I might look into the hops thing. My husband wanted to try hops, but he couldn't find anything except alcohol-based tinctures. I can't understand why anyone would do this as it's rather counterintuitive to put something that's supposed to help you sleep in alcohol. But if it's possible to find good hops tea we might give it a try. I don't know if you should be sharing that one you link to, though. There are a lot of negative reviews complaining of it being very bitter or outright rotten. There's probably a better brand out there somewhere.

Can you do a video or videos demonstrating using activated charcoal for various problems? Showing how to mix it with water to drink, or how to make it a poultice, etc etc?

Good overview on falling asleep. As far as sleep quality and feeling rested my parents noticed getting better rest with mouth taping (yes that’s a thing, and James Nestor did what he called “the Stanford experiment” plugging his nose for 10 days, getting a bunch of tests and it was crazy how deleterious it was on his biology. So making sure we breathe through our nose at night can really help with sleep quality too. Maybe you could do a video on that after some research and trying it out. I like paper tape, my dad likes the similar blue stuff by nexcare as it’s less sticky to take off.

Hi, Chad. I wonder if the people in that study of the effect of spices on sleep ate later in the evening. Too much of anything is obviously not good, but spices tend to benefit health. I deal with acid reflux issues. so I use intermittent fasting to give my digestion a rest. I finish eating for the day around four or five, so that digestion doesn't interfere with sleep, and I try to limit spicy foods to lunch time. The thing that always puts me to sleep is running over the next day's menu in my mind. That's boring enough that it works every time.

What I do to fall asleep is to think of names of people I know that I say blessings to. I do it alphabetically. I usually fall asleep before I hit letter e or f.
