I used to drink soju with my friends with yogurt but then I became vegan. I now usually drink it with fruit juice or fruit syrup, depending on how sweet I'm in the mood for, on ice with sprite. I did watermelon juice just a few days ago with it and it was delicious but I usually use peach syrup (from the canned peaches).

Playing Titanic with beer and soju is fun. You take a glass of beer that's a little over half full and float an empty shot glass in it. Then everyone takes turns pouring a little soju in the empty glass. The person who makes it sink has to drink it all.

So far I have added soju into my fruit smoothie, ice cream, and flavoured sparkling water. In all of them, I was hardly able to taste the alcohol. I plan having more soju+ice cream in the future :3

I drank Soju on several occasions while I was in Korea. I loved it. I remember there were rumors about Soju containing some weird ingredients. I'm sure they were untrue, but you know how people like to talk and spread rumors. LOL

I love soju. I had the best soju that I ever tasted from Suncheon. I’ve had two kinds, the one imported, Charm, and Suncheon soju, which definitely tasted way better. Maybe because I was in S. Korea, huh? And I’ve tried the yogurt & soju…so yummy. Soju tastes amazing with Korean food-a match made in heaven. I really need to broaden my soju horizons. 👀Can you talk about the different types of soju, in the future? ~Awesome video! I just want to hug you for making this great video. Thanks a bunch 👍

I stay in Texas and you can buy it four bottle for a little over 20.00 in Dallas. I love it, it kinda tastes like diluted vodka with the same effect. And I adore Dr.O!!

That's what I thought too. Tastes like diluted alcohol with just a minimal amount of citrus. If I'm out with others I might do it as a shot. But if at home, I think I'd mix it with something.

My favorite way to enjoy soju is with ssam bap! (some sort of meat: spicy pork belly, beef bulgogi, or beef kalbi; with sides; rice; and lettuce leaves).

How much is a bottle of basic soju in korea? I've found it here in the usa for $6 a bottle. I heard it was about $1 a bottle in korea.

Poop squad If you're in Ontario, the most large LCBO's carry one or two brands; it'll be with the sake and other Eastern rice wines if they have them, and those will probably be near the fortified wines. If you're in a different province then I'm sure you could find it somewhere by shopping around, but it's not the most popular thing ever so you might have to ask around.

Soju is about 40 proof, aka 20% alcohol. I am legally allowed to ferment alcohol to 20% in my American home as are most Americans. You're not allowed to Distil higher though. My point is that even though Americans and others can mix table sugar, water and yeast and make 20% alcohol, they don't choose to. S. Koreans choose to drink it when weaker alcohol is readily available, such as beer. Most beers are more like 5%. S. Korea knows it drinks a lot of alcohol and even if you measured by alcohol percentage, they would still, by a WIDE margin, lead the world in alcohol consumption. It's not a big deal but people should know it's a HEAVY drinking culture, and make no mistake about it.
