Hi, how much time would say it took ok you selling things to earn back the cost of the most expensive one, which I think is the PRO at the 7K amount. And for someone who has a full time job do you think it's possible to make an extra 2k a month by doing this a side weekend job. Just in your opinion since you seem very experienced in doing this. And does it take a lot of time for the projects and experience, like a learning curb or it is really easy enough to catch on and just create right out of the gate. I create stuff on my cricut, but I'm always limited on time for that since weeding ect. Takes quite a bit of time.

Hi there! I paid my Glowforge Basic off within a few months (It was $2,500 + $1,000 for filter at my time of purchase) but I was also receiving referrals which helped a ton, and at that time I had a full time graphic design job so I was just selling things on the side. How much you make depends on a lot of factors. I wouldn't expect to immediately be making tons of money just because you have a Glowforge, you kind of need a proven business model first. I knew I had something that sold well (custom pet earrings) before I even got my GF, the Glowforge just enabled me to amp up production and eventually go full time. So in summary, I would build up your biz on the side until you feel confident enough that the Glowforge will pay for itself and then some :) For me the learning curve was not bad at all, and much easier than I expected. Especially since there are so many great beginner tutorials on KZbin.

Thank you for this video! I am a new Glowforge owner and although I am enjoying buying designs on Etsy and printing them, I want to create my own designs now but I do not know how to make the SVG files. do you have any videos to teach this or any you can recommend? I have Photoshop CC and AI (still trying to learn AI lol) At this point my favorite files are the cutout files, I have several that are cutout mountains and wildlife scenes that use 2 to 3 pieces of wood, a solid back piece, then the piece that cuts out, then the frame however I can not find much that teaches a person how to create the cutouts in an understandable way. I have a great way to sell what i make because we own a small mom and pop restaurant so that gives me a great store front :)

How long did it take you to make your side hustle into a full time business?

It took about 6 months from when I got my GF, but I had been working on my business for a few years prior to that, testing different products and biz models. By the time I got my Glowforge I already knew what to sell. Hope that helps. 😊
