I live in Belgium in the Fleming part of the country and the most comment way to say goodbye here is "Dag". I'm surprised it's less used in the Nederlands. Thanks for the vidéo.

I use doei and doeidoei a lot - and I often use 'fijne dag nog' when doing things like leaving a small store.

Afgelopen maand, zei mijn Nederlandse vriend "Houdoe!" op chat. Hij woont in Noord Brabant. I didn't know that it is commonly used in North Brabant😅 Je uitleg is heel duidelijk, now I know it. Bedankt! Groet van Indonesië :)

I hear people saying Da-a-a-a-g! with the intonation going up and down a little, like DAA-aag! And combining Dag and Doei together.

What about - tot gauw ???
@HazewinDog3 жыл бұрын
"Tot gauw" is used when you don't know when you will see each other again, but will try to meet up again soon. This could be used if you might not see the other person again for some days, or even if it takes many weeks. It depends on how often you normally see each other. You would use "tot gauw" to suggest you will meet again sooner, rather than later.
