I’ve had a beagle and rabbit before. I know what’s it’s like to have a beagle, i understand that it’s just their instincts. I love them both. However, to do this is cruel. This is a domesticated bunny, a pet. It run into the woods, how will it survive? Poor thing.

@@daver00lzd00d as someone who currently has a domestic pet bunny on on her lap that is not true. I talked to a lot of breeders when picking my bunnies, one thing that so many of them were worried about was people releasing domestic bunnies into the wild. Pet bunnies are genetically different from wild rabbits and truly don’t have the instincts and ability to survive in the wild. So many people will release their pets into the wild when they are done because they think that because they see rabbits in their yard all the time they will be fine. Those bunnies are not and if they are not quickly eaten will starve to death. Just like how domesticated cats and dogs shouldn’t be left to the wild neither should rabbits. This is not meant to be a reprimand in anyway. This is just someone who dearly loves bunnies trying to help end an untrue and dangerous stereotype. You don’t have to take my word for it but please if you doubt it take a few minutes and google it. I hope you have a blessed day.

@@gracelynchesser1671 I didn't mean that people **should** do it or that it is ethical or whatever, just that it isn't like they were releasing something like a pet parakeet or like a chinchilla into the woods in Canada. they're obviously never going to survive, a rabbit really doesn't have to worry about finding food unless the ground is snow covered. they would likely be predator food pretty quickly but they wouldn't have such a problem surviving as most domesticated animals would, you know what I mean?

I had a beagle for 13 yrs.. she was the best dog I’ve ever had! But she chased the ones in the yard.. and I never let her catch them! Rabbits instinctively know to run from predators, domestic or wild. A fully grown rabbit can run faster than a puppy, hence why it was thrown near them instead of further and it being likely an open field the rabbit would run off, it being a pack/litter of pups hunting one rabbit teaches all of them rather than individual puppies having to kill a rabbit, killing more rabbits + wasting more money. This is how Beagles are trained to begin with

Considering how sensitive you are you probably didn’t hear about how orcas teach there young to hunt seals. They find a seal and then exhaust it for potentially half an hour until the seal is to weak to fight back or flee, and then they use that seal like a puppet to teach there young how to kill them. The process of teaching them can take over ten minutes, over ten minutes of the seal exhausted thinking it’s going to die not including the process of exhausting it in the first place, and then the orcas typically just leave. They don’t eat the seal despite torturing it for over half an hour. So what were you saying about cruelty again?

Actually this is what comes natural to a beagle. This is a way to introduce beagles to a "wild" rabbit. This is a technique that is only done usually once as we want the beagle to follow by scent, not sight. Believe it or not. Some people in this country don't live among acres of concrete and structures. Some people choose to live in areas where they can continue to carry on traditions that have been past down for hundreds of years. Where there are still dirt roads, corn fields, woodlands, and vast habitat for wild animals. Huntable populations of wild animals. We do hunt and we do hunt with hounds as we have for many years. It's a thing. Training your hounds is a thing. These were my hounds. That was my rabbit. I can train my dogs however I deem necessary. If you don't like it move on. Get you a puppy and a rabbit and video them sleeping together. Sounds cute. Have a great day
