Hmm, some of these comments are unnecessarily rude. I wonder if the people who leave them are that rude in real life or whether it’s a bit like road rage and people just think they can say what they want/how they want because it’s social media. Hello Rechenda. I've been following and enjoying your channel for a few weeks. A quick tip regarding the spring/green onion growing in your garden; if you had just chopped it off about an inch above the ground it would have regrown for another harvest a few weeks later.

You are literally the female version of me, lol. i love the challenge of budget cooking and am thinking of doing my own foody channel. I forage for seasonal ingredients, ive started growing my own. i also sell unwanted stuff on market place. i lost my dad recently and live on my own. Budgeting allowed me to buy my own place and pay it off, i now work part time and budgeting allows me to still enjoy a social life. I tend to lean more towards fast cook meals rather than batch cooking. My freezer is filled with veg meat breads etc. I prefer the flexibility and choice.

Because i’m the dullest person that ever lived, i just ran that receipt through the tesco app to compare prices. Apart from the milk, every single thing was within a penny or two at tesco, the bacon was cheaper at 1.45. There definitely are some things that i make a special trip to Aldi for (crispy fries. £1- something, over £4 at full price in tesco!) but for routine stuff I don’t think it’s worth going out of your way for. Your meal planning is absolutely next level 🎉

Been shopping @Aldi and Lidl for best part of 25 years, if you're lucky enough to live where the two are within walking distance of each other (like Droitwich) that's the very best situation as each have pluses and minuses.Aldi do grated mozzarella in large bags (sold in same box as grated cheddar,so sort through) this ,long run,is cheaper.I don't eat meat ,but my kids do and prefer Lidls. Even if you only have a window box, stuff like Basil/Parsley/is very easy to grow from seed, costs pennies. I like your channel. Best Wishes.

Great channel! Just found you! You've got a fab sense of humour 😊 I love all things frugal, budget-friendly and meal-preppy so I enjoyed this video🙂 Friendly suggestions/feedback: - I wouldn't use superglue on a dish that is going to go back in an oven, I'd worry it would leach... you can often find them in charity shops for a few quid 😊 - Also, no need for anything creamy in a risotto - arborio rice, butter & parmesan, cooked the correct way, is all that's needed to make a risotto creamy because arborio rice has a particular texture compared to normal rice that makes it soupy/stodgy (just what I learnt living in Italy) ☺🙏 I'll check out your other videos - you clearly dedicate a lot of time making content and I appreciate it, as I'm sure do many others particularly during a cost of living crisis 💚

That's poor quality pasta though. For a general metric to check quality of pasta look at the protein content. Generally very good pastas have a protein content of 12-14 grams per hundred:. De Cecco is 14g, Barilla is 13g, Rummo is 14.5g - the Aldi essentials one is 5g, one of the lowest I've ever seen.

The pasta is poor quality. A good metric to check quality is to look at the protein content of pasta. De Gecco is 14g per 100g, rummo is 14.5g, barilla is 13g - the Aldi one by contrast is 5g! One of the lowest I have ever seen. Btw Tesco also do a very cheap pasta now probably to compete with Aldi they have a hearty food co range and the spaghetti is the same price, 28p, but also has only 5.5g of protein.

re the broken bowl - I agree with the other comment that super glue might not be safe for oven or for food; but as another solution - I generally just keep the foil tins from the store baked pies from Morrisons and reuse them, and they are fine. I think pies I made in the tin foil tend to have crispier skin too as the metal spreads heat faster than the ceramic (plus they come in different sizes, like pork pie size, quiche size etc so I've got options xD)

Your channel came up in my feed as I had been watching similar videos, so this is the first one I've watched. Good to see a local youtuber, very surprised actually!! I don't use that particular Aldi but it's not far away. After watching other youtuber food challenges I do think yours aren't as accurate as in this one, you aren't exclusively using just the items bought within the amount (cheese, strawberries, chicken etc are all extras)...but it was good to see what you made. And on the Aldi Vs Lidl - locally I stopped using Lidl as the fruit was either very soft and near or past best when I bought it, or didn't last long at all...that was several years ago though so may have changed.
