How do you take care of horses without knowing anything about it, but you have the money for it, so where do you start!? Thx. This is my plan for like 10 years from now with my brothers who want to move out of state one day, but we all want this and that!? So thx!! hoping for it!!

It is winter in Australia right now but unfortunately due to the ongoing extreme drought we have we have very low hay supply in the country so it's really hard to source hay. If there is hay available it costs an insane amount and it simply isn't possible to feed lots of hay. We are all really struggling to keep our horses having a high enough amount of fibre.

Usually he gets two thick biscuits of hay and no hard feed but right now he gets less than half a biscuit with two scoops of pellets and then a scoop of Lucern chaff. Bloody difficult times right now!

I love Australia so much. I wen there for my honeymoon! I believe it when you talk about the struggle in certain areas to get hay at a reasonable cost because of your unique country. 😩

You're lucky for the last 3 weeks its been -12 degrees and warming up to a high of 5-8 degrees so everyone is blanketed but still out all day

Elizabeth Jewell - Yikes! Those temperatures remind me of when I used to live in Maine! And yes, the “winters” in North Carolina are very mild. Summers are torturous here though. 🔥☀️🔥

my horses can’t be blanketed now it’s always raining and freezing but now they have shelter

Why can’t they be blanketed
@Savvy_equine113 жыл бұрын
@@sussybaka6560 bc rain makes blankets wet and then they freeze and shiver makes your horse miserable and sick
@Savvy_equine113 жыл бұрын
@@sussybaka6560 waterproof blankets only hold up so long I don’t trust them it’s better to have shelter and lots of hay for them bc the hay in the gut keeps them warm
@sussybaka65603 жыл бұрын
@@Savvy_equine11 I never knew that! Thanks for telling me.
@Savvy_equine113 жыл бұрын
@@sussybaka6560 yea and actually horses have a water resistance in their coat the under part of their coat stays dry while the top remains wet but they do stay dry under and on their skin best thing to do is give hay and shelter to get out of it for a dry place to sleep

@@DeannaThompsonCorby thx although it's hard to keep horses here😢here because we have to defrost there eyelashes sometimes but other than that the horses love it in the snow

Toni Sturgeon yes, I can’t imagine it would be very difficult! The watering systems and buckets, the frozen ground, ugh! I don’t miss that part about living in Maine.
