Very comprehensive show of winter outfits. I do love Lilysilk but it's very expensive for us lesser mortals who actually have to pay for the items. Wish I could afford them but I can't.

I have found really nice cashmere sweaters at Marshalls for a reasonable price. Also you can try Quince. Cashmere is expensive, but it is so warm and luxurious and will last a long time if cared for. It drapes so nicely. I put mine in sealed containers so no moths can get to them. I feel that it is worth paying a bit more and then having fewer items because it is such a wonderful material. Quince has an alpaca turtleneck similar to the one she is styling here for a reasonable price. I do know where you are coming from because I always balked at the price in the past. But having recently purchased one of these sweaters in a style that isn't boxy (like many are), I thought where have these been all of my life. I don't want to take it off.

I have so many of those nice Lily Silk items, too, I love them. Yes, it is more expensive to buy quality natural-fiber items like these, as many commentators complain, and my wardrobe budget is tiny, too, but I’d rather buy one or two high-quality items like these, than spend the equivalent on lots of fast-fashion items. Fast-fashion is a “perceived value” business, we actually spend more on it, but end up wasting a lot more goods and money, because the individual prices are low, but the quality isn’t good and the styles aren’t classic. Quality over quantity!

I have several LilySilk items. My favorites are the relaxed fit items that have a bit more ease around the waist without being oversized and boxy. The regular and slim cut items I have bought are not as comfortable around the waist. If I buy a larger size to get more ease around the waist, the arms are too long. I hope LilySilk reads this feedback.

Lilysilk has a really long delivery time right now. It's my first time ordering from them, I ordered over a week ago and they haven't shipped yet. If timing for Christmas is an issue for people, depending how far in advance they order and how bad the backlog gets, this might be a problem.

@@lilysilk It certainly is surprising that you would know this detail based on my KZbin login. I have checked on the shipper website and a label was created the day after the order. This is not the same as shipping the order, as the package did not leave the facility until several days later. The emails did go to spam but there was no communication at all from the shipper until an SMS text this morning, even though they apparently attempted to deliver on Friday last week. I would not advise using this shipper in Switzerland as they are consistently the worst of the major couriers. Since you apparently know all my details, if you have a further comment, please send me an email.

Okay, an update to all of this (as I feel one should add the good with the not-so-good, especially on the channel of a KZbinr I really like). The delivery came yesterday (two "SOS" or oversized silk shirts, one cream and one navy) and they are really lovely. Thick silk with a nice weight to it, lovely sheen, I sized up to a medium as I'm thin but also 175cm tall with long arms. I hesitated for a long time because I'm not in a place where returns are free. I think these shirts will be great in the festive season instead of the ubiquitous sequins and glitz. Too bad about the delivery issues but overall a good purchase.

I have to say, I bought the abercrombie camel one until I saw that And Other Stories had a new camel color this season. I put them side by side and immediately returned the abercrombie jacket. It feels and looks cheaper, it creases and it doesnt have a back opening like the And Other Stories one. I much prefer that one! x

You might not have had knitted silk before, but that’s exactly what it feels like. You seem to be mixing up the fiber, silk, with the weave or knit. Not all silk fabrics come in that slippery, shiny weave you might have associated with silk. Woven silk fabric comes in many weaves, from matte (crepe de chine), semi-glossy (habotai) to very glossy (charmeuse). Knitted silk is generally more matte textured, with just a slight sheen, like pima cotton. It’s my favorite silk fabrication, nothing else ever feels quite as good! I didn’t want your viewers to be confused, it is “regular” and “normal” silk even if not glossy. At least, Lily Silk’s is.

OMG everywhere I look on KZbin these days, Lilysilk is there. They seem desperate lol. I love their products though. Even though my budget is tight, I prefer to buy one or two high quality garments that will last forever, than four or five pieces in fast fashion stores that not only won't last for more than one season but aren't also environmentally friendly
