My first ride on a motorcyle was on a Harley Hummer my uncle owned. In '56, I bought my 1st Harley and proceeded to put 160K on four of them, including riding 100 miles to and from work in San Jose, CA, for three years. Then, in 1969, my BIL came riding up my hill on a brand new Honda 750....took it for a short ride....Goodbye Harley and I've never looked back. After putting over 300K on several Hondas and Yamahas, now at age 84, just recently gave my last Honda ST-1100 to my son.

In their day! These were decent,inexpensive transport. Judge them by that 35- 40 thou for a Harley today .Give me a break!

If you want a dependable motorcycle now then just buy either honda , yamaha , kawasaki , or suzuki . Those bikes run like a singer sewing machine and last a very very long time .

Mistakes were made, I started riding in 68, I've had 20+ motorcycles, Excelsior is pronounced ex cell see r, you were talking about an XLCR but showing the XR-750, the cushman eagle, you were showing a Honda, I had a 1982 FXR and a 1982 lowrider, there was nothing wrong with either, I'm not sure where you get your information, but you should do your homework, unsubscribing.

First year of the evolution motor was 1984. The FXR pics show shovelhead motors.

Rode both bikes when they were new .As much as I loved my lowrider ,the FXR handled way better ,quite an improvement over any Harley frame , hands down ,just sayin

Rode a 1981 shovel head ,sportser style narrow glide ,loved it ,rode everywhere .Anyway a buddy just bought an FXR with the narrow glide .We traded rides for a bit .I loved the FXR ,handled like no Harley I knew of,certanly go much farther with less effort ,like power steering ,sort of , I did offer to trade bikes for good ,but no go .When the loudmouth deadheads won out and Harley dropped the frame ,i couldn,t believe the stupidity . It actually made all other Harleys look obsolete by comparison ,which it did do . A great bike .

Who researched the information in this video? So much misinformation. Cushman becomes a Honda? 1982 FXR was a shovel head, not Evo. One of the worst motorcycle videos ever!
