I loved paragon for a few months! It was a great game, but yeah, I stopped playing after a big update that changed everything. I was away on holidays for 2 weeks and when I got back, everything I knew about the game had changed and I wasn't bothered relearning so I just stopped playing.

The other "small technical things" weren't in the original game ~20 years ago, that's the huge elephant in the room. They did a disservice to the actual trilogy by releasing this in this very early pre alpha stage.

To play Paragon (before removing the card system), was to love Paragon. They should have listened to the fans and kept it going. I’ll never forget how much fun I had playing on a team with my friends all in the same room (I used my pc and they would bring their ps4s. Yea it was crossplay before it was cool). I remember I took a break from it to beat BotW, and when I came back it was the last week left. I played until the servers wheels fell off.

Yeah ibought the founders pack. At first they didnt listen to fans, and then they over did it. Made the map smaller AND increased movement speed. Matches Went from going on to long to too short. It was a real shame.

It was a very fun game I don't know why they trashed it so much in the video but it was really fun I do remember there were some changes to make it more noob friendly but it had some interesting characters it was ran way better than smite on console especially on console it was the best MOBA you could play. I'm so disappointed they shut it down like I still have a special theme because I played the beta it was awesome I love that game I felt like they truly did care about how it played on console and how you would use your skills and they cared about the button mapping and made sure it didn't feel unnatural if you weren't a MOBA specialist on console so it was very welcoming with a pretty high skill floor if you wanted to try it was genuinely one of the best games that I wish was still around.

When it comes to Mass Effect Andromeda, you have to remember it wasn't made by the real BioWare, but by some shoddy newbie team that had no connection to BioWare, but was named "BioWare Montreal" by EA so that they could make use of the studio name. Too bad they only ended up hurting the name.

we saw Anthem that was made by the main Bioware, including some big names that worked in older Mass Effect and Dragon Age. the Bioware that made Dragon Age Origins doesn't exist anymore. the current Bioware is just in name. they use the same name to sell their games to clueless Bioware fanboys. don't have hopes for Mass Effect and Dragon Age sequels.

@@joshc5309 The early open world is wide as an ocean and deep as a puddle, the later linear areas feel pretty carelessly slapped together, likely because they had built towards the game being fully open world but suddenly budgetary and time constraints put an end to that. The main story is aggressively mediocre, most of the side activity is straight up busy work with no sense of purpose and no interesting causal relationships with the world. The characters are weakly developed and feel rushed. I literally can't bring a single one to mind, whereas I still remember all of them quite well from previous entries, and did well before any replays. The enemies are plain ass boring narratively compared to previous threats in the series, and felt like the designers went, "what if we do the Covenant, but in Mass Effect?" When it released there were a multitude of game breaking and immersion breaking bugs, although to their credit they did fix most of them.. like a year after release. Ultimately not the worst game I've played after all the fixes, but it had plenty to dislike too. It had its moments and was okay for a single run. It's still by far the worst Mass Effect game. I'll probably never play it again, whereas I've played each previous entry 3-4 times.

It's funny to see Sonic Chronicles on this list because I just watched an interview with Mike Darrah the project lead, and he said it was one of his favorite games to work on simply because the team was really small and agile and they didn't have a ton of pressure by Sega to make it a certain way. He did say it's not their best game, but it was his favorite in terms of development.

the execution was fine until they completely overhauled the card system instead of rebalancing stats and coming up with better passives and actives on the main cards or even bonuses for sets (like bouns stats or effects for completing a certain combo of cards) completion. The activation of bonus effects/stats for completing a card was awesome and added depth to early and mid game strategies.

Paragon was incredible. I had more fun with that game as a multiplayer than any other game I’ve played, period. I wish they would have ran with it and set aside some resources to keep it going. Unfortunately I did end up enjoying fortnite, especially as a father whose son has really enjoyed fortnite at times.

"The Quiet Man" sounds like something that could be really awesome if it was redone properly (pun not intended). Beef up combat a little bit, lean heavier on the supernatural elements, maybe the protagonist is a medium, and despite being deaf to normal life, he can hear ghosts and demons. It could be a lot more in line with something like The Exorcist or maybe even Resident Evil, where you only have limited ways to deal with problems, or possibly a slightly more grounded DMC, with some flashy magic combat and supernatural interaction, but keeping some of those serious tones in there to give it some depth. I don't know, I'd love to give that sort of thing a shot if I actually knew anything about programming.

I think they updated it to have some sounds or new game+ or something because you didn´t hear the dialog and couldn´t follow the story. You are right with the supernatural stuff. If deaf or blind people have the other senses to be stronger it would have totally made sense a deaf guy would have better super natural powers than others. For example he could have "heard" spiritual stuff others would have mistook as some background noise.

I posit that "A Quiet Man" is why you haven't seen a Daredevil game, even though it's a completely different limitation, it still doesn't translate well to the player. Just like having virtually no audio in AQM, a DD game would look like SuperHot, but without a great reason to.

Fallout 76 should be on this list. They made a game no one wanted then blamed it on multiplayer saying it didn't work in Fallout (and by extension elder scrolls). They made Fallout into a looter shooter when all people wanted was a normal Fallout game with co op. Really sucks that 76 failing at launch will probably prevent us from getting a co op Elder Scrolls game (not ESO that is an MMO, I mean just co op)

Fallout 76 has been my favorite game of 21. Most people are really helpful. Definitely nothing like playing rdo or gta. I can spend hours collecting junk and chems just to stock in my vending machine to sell. And I solo all the time. The only time you really need to work together is for the “events” that a person can totally ignore if they want to.

The core gameplay was incredibly fun. Was pretty much a very strategic arena shooter with MOBA objectives and in-match progression. The og deck system was way more custimizable, however stats and effects were luckluster, it just needed rebalancing and more interesting passives/actives to work well, which was what the update brought at the expense of fine tuning. Blame large game companies being run by people entirely and solely focused on easy and quick revenue for Paragon's earlydemise.

Paragon was really really good! Unfortunately they prioritized the small competitive players with to many small balance changes to Champs, instead of real good match making. Beginners could end up playing with someone whom have played from the start. Play 3 games and go 0 / 22 and you will quit. Which ment that the game died by itself. To bad; I really miss it. It was a great cross platform game.

Way of the Warrior was actually cool for its time. It had good music from White Zombie, it had fatalities the were fun to watch, and it gave us 3DO owners an actual fighting game that was decent and exclusive to play. You know what is super annoying in Bioware games? The dialogue options can be extremely deceiving. Think of The Wolf Among Us 'glass him' when you don't know what glassing someone means. Hell, there are mods for Dragon Age out there that tell you what the dialogue is actually going to be because otherwise you might pick a choice you'll regret.

Paragon would have taken over League of Legend’s throne easily in a short time, it already came at number 2 if I remember correctly as the most played MOBA game in 2016, but needed better attention. The management destroyed it. And Fortnite finished the job as it got em’ more money. For me, the most painful about From software is the thing they did with Tenchu saga ... still hurts, it was one of my favorite games. Even with Sekiro's first teaser trailer, for a moment I thought they would finally give a closure to the Tenchu story but nope and don't get me wrong, Sekiro is an excellent game... but ooh I miss those games

I loved the first tenchu on ps1 it was brilliant ...if you want a game that plays quite similarly try aragami 2 off xbox gamepass....it plays very like tenchu...graphics arnt great but the game play is quite slick and you can play form master ninja system similar to tenchu :-)

I adored Tenchu, the gameplay was awesome for the time and the voice acting was absolutely hilarious, even back then when games dialogue was awful (Resident Evil was around the same time) it stood out as being especially naff, and I loved it for that. If you haven't already tried it, check out Aragami, or even better, Aragami 2. Closest thing to Tenchu I've ever played, very very much like it. I had a real nostalgia hit playing through #2 recently, it just lacked the bad voice acting and wacky wobbly boss fights

Everyone talks about how they miss Paragon, but then when you talk to someone about Paragon they complain about the card system, I personally loved the card system and I really didn't mind the massive revamps they were doing with the systems, there was occasionally bad ones that were more bugs. like deathcrawler/Grux 1-shotting people, but overall I wish the game stuck around. there are a few remakes using Paragons assets in the works, but they look like they're just trying really hard to take out the cards and make it into items like all other MOBAS because most MOBA players don't wanna learn things they just want more of the same MOBAS they've been already playing and is the reason the new reworked Paragon games aren't going to last People remember Paragon being awesome, and that means the systems that people complained about probably had something to do with that feeling, as much as alot of them want to say the card system was garbage, if you take that away, the game was no longer a unique experience, it was just a 3rd person moba

Paragon was good when it started. After too many adds and takeaways the balance ended up being off. When it started it felt like you could use any character. After that certain characters became almost necessary to win a match. I would try it again if it came back though

Armored Core 1 & 2 were amazing games. Some of the best memories I have of gaming come from playing those games both in their singleplayer campaigns and PvP. Even went so far as to link Playstations and use 2 TVs for the first one a few times.

Years down the road, I think I can finally say this. Working QA for "Devil's Turd" at Nintendo of America not only ended any desire for working for them ever again, but ended my career in game development altogether. When I consider that my first two projects in the game industry were testing "LOZ: Ocarina of Time" and "Pokemon Yellow" and finally ending up on that.... (any further discussion would be a violation of my NDA other than to say in my personal opinion it was an awful game, with a main story that seemed written as validation for people who hate games.)
