It unfortunately had things going against it. Small budget, small team, not being a DBZ or Naruto game. Trying to do something different (team based vs a standard arena fighter.) With a bigger budget and more polish the game would be great! I still play it tho, I’ve learned to have fun with it.

Combat IS gameplay. It's fun for the first couple hours but by the time you get to the boss battle with flash you realize that the rest of the game is just going to be more of this over and over and over and over again with no variety no switching things up. Just the same generic enemies and the same generic guns and the same generic clearly designed for multiplayer quests over and over and over again

You are definitely on an island because it has overwhelmingly positive reviews. All the changes they made made the game a thousand times better. It's called quality of life improvements all the good things about Persona 5 have been implemented into this one making it more accessible to a wider audience. The older one has some very annoying gameplay features that they thankfully fixed in this one sometimes old things are old and need to be updated. And don't give me that crap about the old one being more challenging because of artificial difficulty garbage features. If you want the game to be hard then play it on hard the rest of us don't want the fun sucked out if it by tedious crap.

If you followed the development process, the game was turning out really good with an amazing combat system. What fucked it up was that The Devs Nebula Joy (Capcom had no input on this game except the licensing) threw out everything in the game that was good, simplified the combat (one button combat which is worse than Auto in Main games) removed style switching and weapon switching in exchange for character switching (so that they can sell multiple versions of a character with a specific weapon), and included the worst sort of predatory micro transactions in a game ever. The game went from a legitimate DMC game which had a combat depth on the levels of mainline, to a knock off Punishing Gray Raven with terrible gacha and progression. It's heartbreaking honestly.

So far all the games I’ve played this year have been pretty damn good. I can easily recommend them all: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Helldivers 2, Stellar Blade, Pepper Grinder, Tekken 8, FF7 Rebirth and Balatro. Hope my list helps at least one of you find something you’ll like.

i want to nominate Expeditions: a mud runner game for this honor. for fans of spin tires, mudrunner, or snow runner, this game was a huge let down. more focus on planning your trip to a destination, then the actual driving. fewer trucks, harder to repair them and keep gas in them, with supplies in the worst places. i played for 2 days before i got mad at how little progress i was making.

I feel like dragon dogma should be second atleast u spend a couple of hours in the endgame during suicide squad before the repetitiveness takes over dragons dogma 2 is the complete definition of repetitiveness and wasted potential atleast we knew ss was gone be ass but dragons dogma is a complete waste of money in a world with endless possibilities they gathered the most basic enemies from a mysticle realm i had no problem with the travel system i actually like it it forces u to explore something i dont do in open world games so i miss out on good items that wasn't the problem the problem is i watch a lot of anime its no interesting enemys in that game and not enough to begin with the skill tree is basic and sometime dont add up with real protects of a realm which is the world they live in. Sorry for the long comment 😅 i just had high hopes for that game i just feel like they started rushing towards the end.
