Another to add to the list: Matt Hardy. Always overlooked because everybody favored Jeff but when he came out with big money Matt and the Broken/Woken universe, everybody got behind him. He took kayfabe to a whole new level and proved everybody wrong. Got even more over than Jeff did and was the reason WWE was ever trending on KZbin at #1 for a whole week with the Ultimate Deletion.

About Hassan, it was the fans who rejected the premise WWE were trying to promote. Fans weren't willing to entertain the idea of being unfair and prejudiced against Hassan's character (and what he represented early on). So they booed him, chanted USA and WWE got the message...

To this day I can’t understand how they didn’t have Braun beat Lesnar for the title at Summerslam. His feud with Roman Reigns was very good and got him so over with the crowd that it felt like the natural course was to have him win the title then. Put the belt on him for a few months and see how he runs with it, if it didn’t ‘fit’ and he wasn’t Mania-ready, he could have always dropped the belt at the Rumble which would have still given him a decent first run and also allowed a decent amount of build for the new champ and a challenger for Wrestlemania

I think Drew was seen as being the Man of the future but was undermined by his experience level. He was a guy that NXT could have helped but Drew ended up learning the intricacies of his craft all over the world. It's good to see him as a top tier guy.

You can't bring in somebody and declare they are your choice for the top guy when they haven't even proven themselves to the fans. This automatically causes fans to resent them. They don't want their opinions made for them. The next mistake the WWE did was give up on Drew just as the fans where beginning to get behind him. This was during the angle Drew had with Kelly Kelly. It was starting to get interesting only for it to be dropped. From there he became a part of 3MB.

Braun Strowman is sadly underutilized in the WWE. Dude's dropped 45 pounds over the last four years (Wikipedia has him at 340 pounds, down from 385), put up with a LOT of bad booking since 2017, and honestly I'd rather see him in AEW where he might actually have a chance at carrying a belt for longer than two weeks.

Hassan was released in 2005, you say? If I'm not mistaken he was still at the company until around 2007, when the London bombings by terrorist happened, a couple of days after a bad angel when he fought the Undertaker, assisted by stereotypical henchmen, trying to strangle Undertaker with paino wires.. That catastrophical angel basically killed the character and he was released not long after that..

And it was getting over, until suddenly some bad bookings and a terrorist attack in London, a couple of days after an angel that so him fighting Undertaker, then summoned some stereotypical henchmen, that was strangling Undertaker with paino wires and carrying out Hassan.. In reality it was a good character that could have gotten far, if WWE hadn't booked him the way they did..

Am I the only one who DIDN'T hate Rocky Maivia? I actually saw a lot of potential in him when I watched his matches in his first year or two. I liked the shows he put on in the ring and could tell he had a lot of charisma. He just needed the chance to properly use it. It actually surprised me to learn years later that nobody liked him at the time. What if Daniel Bryan becomes a saint figure (heel style) and recruits Luke Harper and Erick Rowan and become the Bryan Family, then feuds with Bray Wyatt and challenges him for the title @ Wrestlemania, then Braun Strowman joins the Bryan Family and assists Daniel Bryan to win the title. Then after Wrestlemania, Bray Wyatt comes after Daniel Bryan but with some help.
