WCW can't be totally blamed for Bret Hart's lack of success in the company. Hart was a shelf of his former self when he got there. He would showed like 30 mins before showtime and really didn't put in his best efforts while wrestling for Turner. In his autobiography, Bret even stated he just wanted to show up and do his job and that was it. After Montreal and then his brother's death, he no longer had a stomach for the business as he said in his book My Life In The Cartoon World Of Wrestling.

The stuff about Bobby being let go due to being old may not be true. JR has said that when Mean Gene's contract was coming up, Vince said to JR he was going to help Gene by not offering a new contract so that WCW would think they were "stealing" Gene from WWF by offering a bigger payday than Vince could offer. Simon needs to get 1 fact straight, yes that kick concussed Brett Hart, but what retired him was working that match with Terry Funk and taking a heavy head shot whilst still recovering from a concussion.. Don't take everything that's said in comments and by Brett Hart as fact. He blames Goldberg, because it's easier to pass blame than take responsibility for a poor decision to work a match with Terry Funk and taking a heavy head shot whilst concussed. I like Brett Hart, but in his bitter Brett day's he blames everyone else. Even his good friend Taker had to tell at him once when he didn't want to do a work with Diesel as he thought he would look beat. Taker screamed at him "it's not always about you" Good wrestler, could do a promo but parts of his personality are selfish and dog shit. Cheated on his wife constantly.. respect the wrestler but not the man outside of the ring.
