The botches only make Paul Wight's strength that much more impressive. "Didn't make the jump? Fuck it, I'll just haul you up myself". Also, I never got booing the Batista/Booker T botch. The only thing "difficult" about him was that he didn't like certain spots or losing to certain people - which is completely fair because ALL top wrestlers have a creative control clause in their contracts - meaning they get to call the shots and choose how the match goes and who they lose to. He's not the only person to "abuse" this power. Plenty of others have - HHH, the Rock, Stone Cold, John Cena, Bret Hart etc but people like to trash him simply because they don't like his gimmick or attitude. In terms of actual wrestling, he was perfect. As for being stiff in the ring or botching moves or missing spots, he never did any of those. He was absolutely perfect and made athletic feats seem effortless. That's probably why no one believes that he didn't botch or miss and just did it deliberately. Because he's that amazing. Anybody else, maybe it was a mistake. But not HBK. He doesn't make mistakes. Despite him pulling off so many dangerous moves, he has never injured anyone else during his long career, and he also knew how to sell moves, and could make ANYONE look like a million bucks, and make the match the best match of the year. That's why EVERYONE wanted to work with him, despite not liking his attitude; because they knew they were dealing with the best - and that the match would be an instant classic. He made the greatest comeback of all time in 2002. Vince McMahon gave him the Heavyweight championship in the first ever elimination chamber match, but he never wanted any more championships and only wanted to help younger talent improve and to put them over (i.e. deliberately lose to them to boost their careers) to show that he was now a company man, and he did. But that still couldn't stop his greatness. He had already won more awards for having "the best match of the year" than any other wrestler and had a FOUR-year streak from 1993 to 1996 (UnderTaker broke his back in Jan 1998). So that was almost EVERY SINGLE YEAR from the time he became a solo act (The Heartbreak Kid) and split from Marty Jannetty (as the tag team Rockers) till his forced retirement. Guess what? When he came back in late 2002, he won "best match of the year" EVERY SINGLE YEAR from 2003 all the way until his voluntary retirement in 2010. A SEVEN-YEAR streak, and almost ALL of these were at WrestleMania, the grandest stage of them all. That's how dominant and overpowered this man was. Even when he's putting over others(losing), HE's still the best. Even when his match isn't the main event, HIS match is what everyone talks about. There's a reason he's called Mr WrestleMania and the ShowStopper, because NO ONE has or can outcompete him in a big-match situation. The UnderTaker, Ric Flair, Stone Cold Steve Austin and so many others consider him the GOAT(Greatest of All Time) because he simply was. No one else comes even close. Maybe someone is better than he is at one thing, but is lacking in nearly all the other things. No one is as well-rounded and excels at everything the way he does.

Don't be so spiteful. It's not always deliberate or that they want to make you look bad. As you saw, many times wrestlers are tired or injured or they forget the spot or mistime it or are just not on the same page in general. The fact that you look at it as an intentional slight and then respond by deliberately no-selling their moves shows that you are spiteful, unforgiving and unprofessional, which means you should never become a professional wrestler.

If you watch after he hits the post he had a nasty gash on the top of his head and starts bleeding heavily from it, so he certainly hit it with more than enough force to be concussed from it. Also Taker botches a piledriver in this match and drives Goldberg's head into the mat which was even worse than the jackhammer landing. Everything that could go wrong pretty much did. They're both lucky they got out of that one without any serious lasting damage.
