I don't think Nathan Jones was a complete write off...well, maybe from WWE's standpoint. But the fame he achieved from his time in WWE opened doors into low budget movies and he's made a bit of a name for himself there. I saw a film he was in not long ago called "Boar" (also starring the legendary Bill Moseley) and he was great in that. He played this big, tough but kinda quirky/goofy guy and he just came across as really likeable. So I think because of his time in WWE, he was able to find his true calling as the star of low budget movies, especially horror. As for why his wrestling career went nowhere, I think it was down to Vince wanting to push him too soon. Had he spent some more time in OVW, he might have had a chance, but they wanted him to run before he could walk because of the way he looked.

Another missed opportunity was with Gable Steveson. He has only wrestled one PPV match in his entire WWE run. A poor performance with Baron Corbin would be an understatement, as he was nowhere near as talented as Kurt Angle. Plus, fans instantly turned on him. I’d consider Steveson a massive failure despite all of the hype.

Fans turning on you isn't an indication. If it was based on fans, John Cena and Roman Reigns would have been out the door early on.

How was Karma's signing was pointless? She got pregnant! You acted like she couldn't wrestle or WWE just didn't do anything with her.

I wouldn’t consider Cain Valesquez a waste of time, he had potential to be a top attraction in the company like Logan Paul. The moment where they messed up though was debuting him after screwing over the top baby face in the company and it honestly seems like they signed him just to embarrass him and never wanted him to be a top star in the first place, why have him job to Brock in a few minutes and then never use him again? Seriously?

Dude could have a least lifted a weight or two. I know he can fight in real life, but he looked terrible in WWE.

@@dhenderson1810 No excuse. I have more definition tha he did in WWE, and I'm just your average working guy that hits the weights regularly. No way a professional athlete should look like that, especially going to WWE, which is for show and not real fighting.

Cain Velasquez's signing was pretty much the biggest example of how out of touch WWE was during their ill-fated New Era (Network Era) (2016-2020).

WWE messed him up? Guy couldnt have one match without botch. Check out Cody Rhodes speaking about his worst match in WWE if you need proof. Sin Cara kicked Wade Barrett in balls out of nowhere

Mistico refused to learn the English language, and refused to change his wrestling style to fit with WWE performers. The guy was not cut out for WWE. In Mexico, he’s gold. In Japan, he’s gold. In the US, outside of maybe AEW, he’s not with it.
