As for Melina/mccool heat. Chavo guerrero told of a similar story. He and rey were on smackdown. When raw did a house show in Mexico City. They were bought over to main event the show. Last second it was changed. They put on a 10 star match which pissed off those who followed them.

It's still dumb, but the reasoning was "You've been here, what, 10 seconds, and you're already needing to ice up after matches? You haven't worked long or hard enough here to need that." Which is some dumb gatekeeping, but it _could_ potentially make sense with some rookies who haven't done much in wrestling where it can be a "tough love" kind of thing where you're saying "you don't have the wear and tear on your body that the veterans do, you don't need to be icing up after every match, it makes you look soft to the rest of the guys". But Seth had been wrestling in the indies for like 8 years before his main roster debut. He probably had more wear and tear than guys like Jack Swagger, who'd been main roster for like 4 years but spent little time in developmental before arriving on the main roster.
