I gotta give it to you, a lot of sampled base hip hop these days don't capture the feel of early to mid nineties hip hop, yours, however, does. A number of the songs you played in this video could've easily fit in with what I was listening to back then and wouldn't sounds out of place at all. Salutes, man.

I will always remember that "Hip hop and rap, yeah that's where my heart's at" sample from a Bomb Worldwide (Bomb Hip Hop Records) album I bought probably around 2000. Too lazy to look it up, but I think it was a German group and the track was "Hip Hop und Rap." Love your stuff, and it's cool that you've tracked your journey. Here's to 12 years.

Dude this inspired the shit out of me. I just started making vinyl sample based beats 2 months ago and this is the level I aspire to reach. It's crazy because looking for inspiration usually I come across tons of kids who just do this to be famous and make money but don't realize the years of work that it takes to reach higher levels. This is the real shit right here. Learning to play machines like an instrument, hearing the right sounds, doing it for the music. Thank you for this and your contribution to the culture. Now I'm going to go find your beat tapes.

Maartn...I have a very important question. I never had an MPC or any type of standalone sampler before, but I ALWAYS wanted one. I currently use Maschine and it's been great but I really want to have a new start on my beatmaking journey. I have my eye on the new SP2400. Looks very dope, being a "vintage style" unit but with modern features. I know it's expensive but that's not a problem. I was also thinking of buying a used Mpc2500 with JJOS but then I still be dealing with old technology and gear with no warranty. What do you think? What you guys in the comments think?
@MAARTN5 жыл бұрын
Yo man, Hmm it's a hard choice! I personally would go for the SP2400, just because I'm very curious about that one. But then again, I don't know yet if it's a good machine or not. Still need to see one in real life first and test it out. Heard good things about it though. But same goes for the MPC, and it might be easier for you to use because you have the maschine. Hope you can make up your mind soon, and I didn't make you doubt even more.. Peace ✌
